Krafty Chicks Challenge #613: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

I am very pleased at how this card turned out. Took me a few tries though to get the look I wanted. Tip: any time you are stamping a background image, use your Stamparatus. I needed to stamp this floral three times before I got all the image perfectly stamped. I first stamped it on Basic White card stock but then I messed up watercolouring the blue and it was quite difficult to see the outline of the image. Once I stamped it on Pool Party though, I could see the outline perfectly and I didn't need to fuss with the white space.

Here's a close up. All I did was messily colour my florals, letting it dry a bit and adding a second layer in the shadow areas to darken the colour. Quick and fun to colour!

Supplies I used: (links to come)

  • Breathtaking Bouquet stamp set: Retired
  • Blossoms In Bloom: Retired
  • Flirty Flamingo ink pad: 147052
  • Mango Melody ink pad: 147093
  • Highland Heather ink pad: 147103
  • Granny Apple Green ink pad:147095
  • Garden Green ink pad: 147089
  • Versamark ink pad: 102283
  • Thick Basic White card stock: 159229
  • Basic Black card stock: 121045
  • Pool Party card stock: 122924
  • Heat Tool: 129053
  • White Embossing Powder: 155554
  • Water Painter: 151298
  • Stampin' Dimensionals: 104430

For the inside of the card and the envelope, I went with a few fun flowers and leaves.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #612: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

My sincere apologies for being late this week. My Stepson just opened his own pizzeria an hour away and I am helping him get settled in and work out a few kinks. He also ran into a bit of bad luck; his dough machine broke down. So we are making dough by hand. Lots of dough! This hasn't left me much time to get creative and also blog about it. But I had time today!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? We are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

I am also following along with Freshly Made Sketches challenge, which worked out great for my Throwback Thursday stamp set.

It truly was a simple card to put together and took no time. Which I needed at the moment.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. I added a few more balloons and party hats and called it good!

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #611: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

This week I played along with Fusion Card Challenge. They have a sketch and a pic for inspiration.

Since the theme is Christmas, I really couldn't use a butterfly but I did use a shade of blue. Can you tell which blue I used?? It's one of the new In Colors 2022-2023: Tahitian Tide. Now have a look on the banner and what do you see? One would think that is a stencil but it's not technically one. I used the coordinating die as a mask. Go have a look in your die collection to see if any can be used as a stencil, they aren't just for die cutting.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple. Just added a few snowflakes and another banner to have it coordinate with the card.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge 610: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome May. I am starting to see some green popping through the dirt. It's such a wonderful sight! And pretty soon it will be full of colour, I can't wait. I haven't even started my seedlings yet. I am running so far behind. We've decided to downsize our garden this year. It was tough for me in the fall to harvest and winterize by myself. I say that now but when planting starts in a couple of weeks, I might change my mind. Anyway...

Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

I'm back to creating Throwback Thursday cards with retired stamp sets. Just now, that pile has gotten bigger with the recently retired Stampin' Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. I haven't sorted out yet which stamp sets are keepers and which ones will go up for sale. I also played along with Freshly Made Sketches. That always have a clean and simple layout, it makes card creating easier.

Here's a close up of my cupcakes. You can see I coloured them with my Stampin' Blends and then raised them with Stampin' Dimensionals. Did I mention I enjoy colouring?

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. Here I added and coloured some cupcakes and sprinkle in the background. I used a mask (stamp on printer paper and fussy cut on the outline of cupcake) to cover the cupcake and then stamped the sprinkles. Can't wait till I get my hand on the Masking Paper. Did you see this in the new 2022-2023 Annual catalogue?? Page 149 #9.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.
