Krafty Chicks Challenge #622: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

I made this card for my grandson's 8th birthday. He had an outer space theme. Instead of creating my own background, I found this paper in the retired New Horizon DSP that I thought was perfect. All I had to do was stamp the sentiment, an alien and spaceship.

Have you ever tried the Rock & Roll technique? It's quite simple and produces a wow factor to your project. First stamp your image in the light colour, then rock only the edges of the image in the dark colour. I also used a sponge dauber and dabbed the overlap to look blended then stamped onto card stock. Sometimes it's not so great though, so don't despair, just try again. I think I trashed 4 aliens before I was happy.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. It's a perfect time to use up the end bits of DSP. Then stamp an astronaut with flag and shooting stars for the envelope but added an alien for the inside.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #621: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

This is not a Throwback Thursday card because I got some new products to play with that have already waited couple of week for some attention. I was dying to use the moose in this stamp set but he didn't fit for this layout. And the bunny is cute too!

Supplies I used:

I went really simple with the inside of the card and the envelope by randomly stamping the snowflakes.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #619: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome July and the summer fun has begun! I know I'll be spending more time in the garden. We've gotten lots of rain lately so the weeds have flourished so the first task is taking care of that. With the end of the school year, I can now spend more time with the grand kids, not just a couple of hours on the weekends. We have a couple of fun day trips planned, definitely a few beach days mixed in.

Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

This was a fun card to create. As part of the Throwback Thursday theme, I got to use up some itty bitty scraps that I know we all have in our stash. I'm such a hoarder of DSP too so this a great way to use it up. I'll definitely be using this layout again.

Here's a close up of the sheep. Ain't he cute?? He's from last year's SAB (Sale-A-Bration) freebie. He has two other friends that he can play with. And there were dies that coordinating with this stamp set. The gate or fence in the background and the balloon are part of the die set, along with a sun, a party hat, a couple of clouds, and a pennant flag.

Supplies I used:

I just noticed that I didn't take a pic of the inside of the card. But you know that I like to keep it and the envelope CAS, Clean And Simple. For the inside, I'm just using up more scrap DSP, nothing else.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #618: AnyThing Goes

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday!

I can't believe we are at the end of June, half way through the year, then end of the school year, and the beginning of summer. Boy, how the time flies!

It's an AnyThing Goes kind of challenge over on the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog this week. These are the easiest kind of cards to make since I can play with any theme I want, almost like there aren't any rules. So here's my card:

Since it's beach weather and the next retired stamp set for Throwback Thursday is Colorful Seasons, I thought it very fitting to use the Adirondack chair die and matched it with sandy/sky DSP. Life is a beautiful thing by water.

Supplies I used:

I kept the inside of the card and the envelope CAS by simply stamping the branch and flowers.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Anything Goes week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.
