Krafty Chicks Challenge #674: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

This week I'm playing with daisies. I used white embossing powder to outline the flower and then coloured them in with my Water Painters. By using Berry Burst on the petals and Pecan Pie for the centers, I made them into echinacea flowers.

I didn't have time to create an envelope or decorate the inside of the card. I'm too busy enjoying the summer weather, playing outdoors with the grand kids, keeping up with the garden (well the main part of it anyway). I hope you're enjoying this season and finding time to get creative too.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #673: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

I created a One-Layer card and tried really hard to like it. I mean it was fine, the card is pretty. But I just couldn't let it be. I stamped another floral image, fussy cut each leaf and then adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals, leaf on top of leaf. Then I was satisfied!

I'm not sure if you can see, I stamped the floral in green then used a Water Painter to pull the colour from the base of the leaf to the tip to add subtle colour.

I even kept the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS.

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #672: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

I have two cards to share today using the same layout; one landscape style and the other is portrait.

This layout helps you create quick cards. I chose to use DSP to add interest but you can definitely just leave the card base plain and use card stock. For the landscape card, I fussy cut the beautiful poinsettias from retired DSP. And on the portrait card, I stamped the holly image and coloured it with my Blends. Using dimensionals allows the focal element to stand out even more. Finally by adding embellishments like pearls, rhinestones or gems, your card now has bling and wow factor.

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. Alittle more card stock, DSP or an image even if you wish, finishes off your card.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #671: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

It's the first week of July. That means it's the Stamp Act challenge with the Krafty Chicks. As long as something is stamped, be it an image (digi or rubber) or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge. We also introduce a new Guest Designer for the month. So let's welcome Jolanda from The Inque Spot Studio with open arms and show her some love with comments on her blog. Here's my card:

I'm playing along with CASE-ing Tuesday's current sketch challenge. And Stampin' Up!'s cute little Zany Zoo critters. I stamped and coloured Mr Coon but Ms Meerie and Mr Koala are fussy cut from the coordinating DSP.

I kept the inside and the envelope CAS (Clean And Simple) with just a bit of DSP and a fussy cut image from the Zoo Crew DSP.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.
