Krafty Chicks Challenge #718: AnyThing Goes (ATG)

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

This week on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog, it's Anything Goes week. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally Anything Goes!

I created this card for a FaceBook challenge: #ACardADayInMay. I didn't quite craft everyday and I'm ok with that. I've only blogged once, well twice if we count today. But I had lots of fun and chatted with a couple of ladies, and didn't stress about not creating everyday.

The theme for Day 30 is Summer Fun but I don't have a Stampin' Up! stamp set with the right images. I guess any flower would count and we all know I'm not short on those but I wanted a beach theme. I bought this stamp set from a friend a long, long time ago and never inked it up. So today is the day! And nothing says summer better than flip-flops.

Products used

  • Sandals 4 Summer stamp set from The Stamp of Life
  • Card Stock: Crumb Cake (12095), Basic White (159276)
  • DSP: Serene Scenery (retired)
  • Ink Pads: Memento (132708), Daffodil Delight (147094), Melon Mambo (147051)
  • Stampin' Write Markers: Crumb Cake and Early Espresso (161697)
  • Accessories: Sandals 4 Summer dies, ruler, Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple with just a little DSP and a coordinating stamped image.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #716: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

For this card, I cased this card from our wonderful DT Denise.

Do you see the similarities?? Instead of a red background, I opted for blue (as in sky). As much as I love creating winter/Christmas cards, this wasn't the right season for me, I went with BEES! And I of course change the sentiment. Here's a close up. Loving the water droplets!

Another close up shot here to show you how you can dimension to you sentiments dies: die cut them at least 3 times and stick them together. I used adhesive sheets on the back of the card stock before die cutting to make it easier to adhere.

You can also use Adhesive Foam Sheets but then you would see the white foam from the side. I'm being a little nit-picky, I know but I do like the layered card stock look better.

The product list of what I used:

  • Stamp Set: Honey Bee (retired)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Basic Black (121045)
  • Ink Pads: Memento (132708), Coastal Cabana (147097)
  • Stampin' Blends: Daffodil Delight (154883), Balmy Blue (154830)
  • Accessories: Blending Brush (153611), Matte Black Dots (retired), Well Written Dies (retired), Honey Bee Dies (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating image and a bit of water splattered ink blending. Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple!

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #715: Christmas

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog.

Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a Christmas or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

For this card I went digging through my many boxes of Christmas Paper Pumpkin kits. When I saw this deer stamp, an idea popped in my head so I had to roll with it. Here's a close up the focal element:

Love this layout, very clean and simple. And I tried doing non-traditional colours but a candy cane is red and white for me so I couldn't fully commit to non-traditional.

Products used:

  • Stamp set: Paper Pumpkin November 2022, From The North Pole (retired)
  • Card stock: Crumb Cake (120953), Soft Sea Foam (146988), Basic White (159276)
  • Ink pads: Bubble Bath (161664), Real Red (147084)
  • Accessories: Water Painter (151298), 2 1/2 Circle Punch (133782), Glitter Sequins (retired), Paper Snip Scissors (103579), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I stamped the deer emblem and added a small strip of card stock. Quick and easy and done!

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

A Card A Day In May Challenge: Day 1 - BIRTHDAY

Good day and welcome to my humble blog. I'm an Independent Demonstrator with Stampin' Up! and I'm here to offer you inspiration and encourage you to get into your craft space to get creative.

For the month of May I joined a pressure free challenge to create A Card A Day In May. This will just be for fun and inspiration. I don’t promise to create and blog everyday but I do promise to have fun with all my creations. Our host for the challenge is Kevin from Kreations by Kevin - Kevin’s Kards on Facebook. Cards are to be posted on his group page: A Card A Day In May in the comments of the appropriate day.

Here’s my card for Day 1: BIRTHDAY.

I  did create this card yesterday on May 1st but I didn’t get around to taking my pictures till this morning. Hence the tardiness of this post. As I mentioned earlier, I may not blog about every card. So if you want to see all my creations, the best place is in my Facebook group: Diane’s Craft Space

Products used:
  • Stamp set: Biggest Wishes (retired)
  • Card stock: Basic Black (121045), Basic White (159276), Crushed Curry (131199), Melon Mambo (115320)
  • Ink pads: Memento Tuxedo Black (132708)
  • Accessories: It’s My Party DSP (retired), Beautiful Balloon Dies (161456), Artistic Dies (retired), Balloon punch (retired), Classic Matte Black Dots (retired), Black Twine (unknown source), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104403)
I also play with the current Freshly Made Sketch #624

To finish off the card set, I added a bit of DSP to the inside of the card and the envelope. Keeping it really simple yet jazzing it up a bit.

That’s all for now, I do have Day 2 done but not sure if I’ll have time to blog about it as I am heading off to work soon. I hope you enjoyed today’s creation and that it inspired you to get crafty today.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #714: Stamps

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

It's the first week of a brand new month, which means it's our STAMP week challenge. As long as something is stamped on your project, (rubber, polymer or digi) (sentiment or image), it qualifies for the challenge.

Today we also usually introduce a new Guest Designer to play in the Hen House with us but Rachelle of Red Cre8s is with us for another month. Let us send her some love in her comment section.

For our stamp challenge this week, I created an Encouragement card. Here's a close up:

This card came together quickly as most of the elements were all ready for me. Sometimes while creating a project, I decide to go another way or the element doesn't fit right as envisioned so I stash them in the stamp case for another day. Today was the day to put  these together! I only have to emboss the background layer and assemble.

Products used:

  • Stamp sets: Mountain Air and Charming Sentiment stamp (retired)
  • Card Stock: Crumb Cake (120953), Garden Green (102584), Basic White (159276)
  • Ink Pads: Garden Green (147089), Crumb Cake (147116), Early Espresso (147114), Pool Party (147107)
  • Accessories: 3D Fern Embossing Folder (158804), Majestic Mountain Dies (retired), Stitched Shaped Dies (retired), Linen Thread (104199), Blending Brushes (153611), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating image. Same goes for the envelope. Keeping it simple.
