Krafty Chicks Challenge #740: ANYTHING GOES

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

This week on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog, it's Anything Goes week. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally Anything Goes!

I decided on a Christmas card for ANYTHING GOES week. 'Tis The Season to get ready early. I'm sure I have enough Christmas cards in my stash this year for everyone on my list, now let's hope I get them addressed and mailed out in time.

Here's a levelled up version of Layout Template #7 from page 22 of the Annual Catalogue. I wish I can do a true CAS (Clean And Simple) card as the Card Template shows but me and lots of white space is a challenge. I absolutely love a true CAS designed card that other crafters make but once I try, I always feel the need to add something more.

Products used

  • Stamp set: none
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229)
  • Ink Pads: none
  • Accessories: Joyful Sayings Ephemera Pack (164109), Reindeer Days Memories & More Card Pack (164047), Gold Elastic Trim (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

And now to finish off the card set, I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple with just a little DSP. It's a simple added touch that makes it feel extra special.

All Occasions is the theme. Just create something that is suitable for any special event, like wedding, sympathy, thank you and so on. I went with a Feel Better card that can be for someone that is under the weather, feeling ill or sad, or even as a sympathy card.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Beautifully Happy (retired)
  • Card Stock: Pretty Peacock (150880), Petal Pink (146985), Flirty Flamingo (141416), Basic White (159276)
  • Ink Pads: Pretty Peacock (150083), Memento (132708)
  • Stampin' Blends: Granny Apple Green (154885), Mossy Meadow (154890), Petal Pink (154893), Flirty Flamingo (154884)

And to finish off the card set, I keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by just adding the image and a card stock strip.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #738: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

I'm posting this card late but I'm glad I waited. My Paper Pumpkin subscription box was delivered yesterday (Thursday) and so I cleared my schedule (household chores can wait) for the morning to play. I created an alternative to the kit which I often like to do to get more use out of it. This all-inclusive kit makes 10 cards (5 each of 2 designs) and comes with the envelopes already decorated. In case you haven't noticed, I also used Layout #5 from page 22 of the Annual Catalogue. I reference that page a lot for inspiration. I made it my own by rotating the card to landscape and instead of a big banner in the background I went with a rectangle.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Paper Pumpkin October 2024: Nests of Christmas
  • Card Stock:Thick White (159229)
  • Ink Pads: Shaded Spruce (ink spot included in the kit)
  • Accessories: Sparkle Gems (161288), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating image (die cut) and some left over DSP. Envelope was already beautifully decorated, so I didn't touch it. Keep it simple!

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #738: CHRISTMAS

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog.

Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a Christmas or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

I chose a very simple layout this week. I'm letting the DSP shine and the sentiment be bold. And with little pop of red to mix things up. You may recognize this as Layout 4 from the Stampin' Up! Inspiration templates on page 22 of the Annual Catalogue.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: More Wishes (162324)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Real Red (102482), Evening Evergreen (retired)
  • DSP: Painted Christmas (retired)
  • Ink Pads: VersaMark (102283)
  • Stampin' Blends: Real Red (154899)
  • Accessories:Heat Tool (129053), White Emboss Powder (165679), Toile Tidings Glitter Dots (retired), Stampin Dimensionals (104430)

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I just added a strip of DSP. Quick and easy and done.

Krafty Chicks Challenge # 736: Stamps

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

It's the first week of a brand new month, which means it's our STAMP week challenge. As long as something is stamped on your project, (rubber, polymer or digi) (sentiment or image), it qualifies for the challenge.

For our stamp challenge this week, I created a fall-ish card. Hard to say the theme as the sentiment can mean so many things like Thank You, I Love You, or I'm Happy. Then I noticed that the only thing I stamped was the sentiment. It counts though!

I'm also playing along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I just changed the orientation to fit my images.

Here's a close up:

Did you think think the sunflowers were stamped?? Nope, that's a stencil (or in Stampin' Up! world: a decorative mask). I then traced around the edges with a Micron pen as my Stampin' Up! black marker is dried up. I love the effect of the doodle outline.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Cheerful Daisies (1612390)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Early Espresso (119686), Cinnamon Cider (retired)
  • DSP: Flowers For Every Season (retired)
  • Ink Pads: Crushed Curry (147087), Early Espresso (147114), Pecan Pie (161665), Granny Apple Green (147095), VersaMark (102283)
  • Accessories: Abundant Beauty Decorative Mask (retired), Stitcjed Rectangle die (retired), Spotlight On Nature die (163580),Fern 3D Embossing Folder (158804), Heat Tool (129053), White Embossing Powder (165679),Gilded Gems (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

I feel no card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating product, so a little DSP is added. Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple.
