Kraft Chicks Challenge #550 - Christmas

Welcome to another edition of Krafty Chicks Challenge Thursday. We, in Central Alberta, have been getting mild springtime weather for the almost a couple of weeks. I have even seen people wear shorts! Yesterday morning however, Mother Nature put the brakes on and reminded us that it's still winter, with cold temperatures and a light blanket of snow. It wasn't as pretty a wonderland as this scenic card though.

This scene is simply created with the retired Feels Like Frost DSP. Add a little focal point like the tree die found in the In The Woods die set (151809) covered in Shimmery Crystal Effects (150892), a sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set (149418) and you have a CAS (Clean And Simple) design in a Christmas card.

It's very hard to photograph the beauty of Shimmery Crystal Effects. This is the closest, clear picture I could capture. Looks like a thin blanket of snow to me.

I kept the inside of the card CAS as well. The sentiment is stamped in Highland Heather ink (147103) and the naked trees, as my grandsons love to call them, stamped in Smokey Slate (147113).

And to finish it all off, the envelope is decorated with more DSP and a band of Highland Heather to tie it all together.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the other Hens have for inspiration. You can also see what each Designer have created for you on their personal blogs.

  2. Your shimmery, 'snow blanketed' tree pops wonderfully against the frosty looking background pp, Diane ... what a lovely idea to take the design to the inside of the card ... and to the envelope! A fabulous card package! Thanks so much for your visit and kind words! Anita :)
