Krafty Chicks Challenge #570: AnyThing Goes (ATG)

Can't believe we are at the end of July already. That's half the summer gone too. And it's an AnyThing Goes kind of challenge over on the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. These are the easiest kind of cards to make since I can play with any theme I want, almost like there aren't any rules.

I just received my pre-order and wanted to play with the cute little penguin set. They are so adorable! I went with a simple layout since I wanted the card to be all about the penguin. I can't wait to see some live ones in a couple of weeks when I bring my grandsons to the Calgary Zoo. I think that's my favourite exhibit in the whole park!

Supplies I used:

  • Penguin Place stamp set: 156410 (Available August 2, 2021)
  • Smokey Slate ink pad: 147113
  • Coastal Cabana ink pad: 147097
  • Real Red ink pad: 147084
  • Pumpkin Pie ink pad: 147086
  • Memento ink pad: 132708
  • VersaMark ink pad: 102283
  • Coastal Cabana card stock: 131297
  • Real Red card stock: 102482
  • Basic White card stock: 159276
  • Basic Black card stock: 121045
  • Water Painters: 151298
  • Stampin' Dimensionals: 104430

This time I created the inside of the card and the envelope using the same layout and kept things CAS. I also added a few snow flakes on the envelope flap. There's no need to complicate things for them to coordinate together.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details, more inspiration and link up your project for this week's AnyThing Goes challenge. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #569: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything thing goes. Here's my card:

As much as we are saddened by the occasion of a sympathy card, sending our condolences to a friend or family may bring them some comfort. Although if you change sentiment on this card, you could have any occasion really. I thought of poppies this week because my garden is in full bloom with them, not blue ones though, I just liked this colour contrast.

Supplies I used:
  • Peaceful Moments stamp set: 151595
  • Painted Poppies stamp set: 151599
  • Early Espresso ink pad:147114
  • Bermuda Bay ink pad: 147096
  • Granny Apple Green ink pad: 147095
  • Stampin' Write Markers (Brights): 147157
  • Thick Basic White card stock: 159229
  • Early Espresso card stock: 119686
  • Coastal Cabana card stock: 131297
  • Bermuda Bay card stock: 131197
  • Granny Apple Green card stock: 146990
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine: 149653
  • Poppy Moments Dies: 151594
  • Ladybug Trinkets: retired
  • Multipurpose Glue: 110755
  • Stampin' Dimensionals: 104430

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope very simple. A little card stock banner with a pretty poppy stamped image and call it done.

I hope my card inspires you to play in the Hen House this week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #568: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

I cased this card from Caroline Paton at KISS - keep it sweet and simple. It's another card I've had saved on my Ipad since March. Originally, it was going to be a "Use Your Scraps" post but I've let that series idle for a bit. Just concentrating on Krafty Chicks for now. I love rainbows, so this card really was fun create. And who doesn't love a crazy chick??

 Supplies I used:

  • Hey Birthday Chick stamp set: 154464
  • Hey Chick stamp set: retired again
  • Thick Basic White card stock: 159229
  • Gorgeous Grape card stock: 146987
  • Highland Heather card stock: 146986
  • Bermuda Bay card stock: 131197
  • Coastal Cabana card stock: 131297
  • Granny Apple Green card stock: 146990
  • Daffodil Delight card stock: 119683
  • Mango Melody card stock: 146989
  • flirty Flamingo card stock: 141416
  • Melon Mambo card stock: 115320
  • Poppy Parade card stock:119793
  • Crumb Cake card stock: 120953
  • Memento ink pad: 132708
  • Stampin' Write Markers, Brights family: 147157
  • Stampin' Blends Combo Pack, Real Red: 154899
  • Stampin' Blends Combo Pack, Pumpkin Pie: 154897
  • Stampin' Blends Combo Pack, Crumb Cake: 154882
  • Stampin' Blends Combo Pack, Smoky Slate: 154904
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine: 149653
  • Birthday Chicks Dies: 158200
  • Stitched Rectangles Dies: 151820
  • Stampin' Dimensionals: 104430

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. And I still had some scraps left over so why not tie it all together with the colours of the rainbow and another chicken.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #567: Christmas

Good day everyone! Thank you for stopping in. And welcome to another edition of the Krafty Chicks Challenge. It’s Christmas week! Now let’s get started on some holiday cards or projects so we can beat the hustle and bustle and enjoy the season.

I was kind of in a hurry to create a card for this week's challenge and while looking for a current Christmas stamp set, I stumbled upon this project kit (now retired). I remember that I HAD TO HAVE IT last season to make as gift sets for my care givers (chiropractor, massage therapist, physio therapist) but as you can see, I must have procrastinated a little too long. Maybe, I'll start early this year since it's on my desk already. It could happen.

This kit included enough supplies to make 30 tags, 5 of each six designs. And these die cuts are stunning, making easy work of assembling or in this case, creating a card using a tag.

Supplies I used:

  • Most Wonderful Time stamp set: retired
  • Past Christmas Paper Pumpkin stamp set: retired
  • Tag Buffet Project Kit: retired
  • Thick Basic White card stock: 159229
  • Garden Green card stock: 102584
  • Real Red ink pad: 147084
  • Garden Green ink pad: 147089
  • Water Painter: 151298
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals: 104430

To decorate the inside of the card and the envelope, I stamped a tree and watercoloured it. Added a sentiment to the inside and falling snow to the flap of the envelope. Easy, peasy and done!

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place for you to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #566 - Stamp Act

 Happy Canada Day! Hello July!

Living in Alberta right now, in this heat wave with no AC, means lots of time hanging out in the basement and a bit of crafty time for me. Temps at work have reached 45 degrees Celsius but I swear it's even hotter in front of those two pizza ovens. I love summer, I do, but not at these temps. Thankfully it should only last a week. And so bring on the beer!!!

Enough whining for today, let's cheer up this post with a pretty card for the Krafty Chicks Challenge that starts today. We are looking for a Stamp Act, which means stamp something on your project. It can be as little as a sentiment or as elaborate as a whole scene, you decide.

This card didn't turn out the way I saw it in my head but I am happy with it all the same. Honestly, less was more but I couldn't do it. My issues with white space is real, I'm working on it but it's slowly, very slowly developing. I created a watercolour wash on the background panel by stamping ink on my glass mat, you can use a silicone craft sheet too (127853). Then spray with water and "roll" a window sheet (or plastic from packaging) into the ink. Next step is to "kiss" the panel gently and roll the colour. You don't want too much water to saturate but you want enough that the ink will move around on your card stock, you can also use the Shimmery White card stock (101910) if you need a little more play time.

Supplies I used:

  •  Dragonfly Garden stamp set: 154411
  • Very Versailles stamp set: 149275
  • Thick Basic White card stock: 159229
  • Mango Melody card stock: 146989
  • Basic Black card stock: 121045
  • Mango Melody ink pad: 147093
  • Old Olive ink pad: 147090
  • Soft Suede ink pad: 147115
  • VersaMark ink pad: 102283
  • White Embossing Powder: 155554 ( from the Basic Embossing Powder bundle)
  • Heat Tool: 129053
  • Dragonflies Punch: 154240 (can be purchased as a bundle with the Dragonfly Garden set)
  • Dandy Garden 6x6 DSP: retired (punched the dragonfly out of DSP)
  • Stampin' Dimensionals: 104430

I even took the time to stamp the inside of the card as well as the envelope. This simple touch adds a lot of elegance to your card. Don't skip this step. Never a "naked" envelope.

Now it's your turn to get creative. Let's see what you're playing with in your craft space.
