Krafty Chicks Challenge #832: BIRTHDAY

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

New month, new challenge starting today. Week one brings us a BIRTHDAY theme on the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Create any paper craft with a birthday theme, male, female, kids, card, scrapbook or even home decor. We hope to see you in the gallery.

#832 BIRTHDAY

Today's card was created on a whim. I found a sketch and reached (without looking) for DSP on my paper rack. I love the vibrant colours, even the crab. I'm into eating shell fish, not thinking their cute. Here's the sketch from their Facebook group CASE-ing Tuesday Sketches:

Adding the vellum behind the crab made him stand out more. And then the gems really finished it off.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Wild Bunch
  • Card Stock: Berry Burst, Vellum
  • DSP: Friends of The Ocean
  • Ink Pads: VersaMark
  • Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Stylish Shaped Dies, Delightful Decorative Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

No card is complete without finishing the inside of the card and the envelope. Keep it simple with a little DSP and/or coordinating image.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for BIRTHDAY week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #831: ATG: Mood Board

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Because July has a fifth Thursday, we have an ANYTHING GOES theme on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally ANYTHING GOES! But this time, take inspiration from the MOOD BOARD.

 #831 ANYTHING GOES

I was feeling the summer vibe from the mood board and I thought beach and flip flops. I also knew I had a flip flop stamp set (non Stampin' Up!) to play with so the decision was easy.

Products used

  • Stamp set: Sandals For Summer (non Stampin' Up!)
  • Card Stock: Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Basic White
  • DSP: Serene Scenes
  • Ink Pads: Melon Mambo, Pecan Pie
  • Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple with a coordinating stamped image. For this card, I played along with The Paper Players sketch this week, I just changed the orientation.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for ANYTHING GOES week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #830: MASCULINE

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. MASCULINE is the theme this week and good luck to you. I struggle with cards for men. I love flowers and frills so I tend to buy more feminine stamp sets and play with those. I'll have to dig deep for masculine stamp set and dust them off before playing. Here we go!

 #830 MASCULINE

This is the MASCULINE card I created for my most recent class. Something a tad simple, a little colour blending, a little embossing, and a little vellum to make the propeller more real.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Sky's The Limit
  • Card Stock: Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla, Vellum
  • DSP: Going Places
  • Ink Pads: VersaMark, Hybrid Basic Black, Balmy Blue, Pecan Pie
  • Stampin' Blends: Mossy Meadow
  • Accessories: Circle Die, Blending Brush, White Gel Pen, Swirly clip, Black & White twine, Stampin' Dimensionals

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by just adding some DSP and a coordinating image.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration from the Design Teamfor MASCULINE week . There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #829: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

#829 CAS

I waited to the very last minute this week to create my CAS card. I have the youngest grandson visiting with us this week and it's been tough to sneak away to my craft space. I almost decided to skip this week and call it a holiday but I did manage to eek out a few minutes before my July Card Class. I followed the new layout at Freshly Made Sketches and the card took no time at all.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: June 2026 Paper Pumpkin kit: Bikes & Blooms, Supremely Awesome
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White, Lost Lagoon
  • Ink Pads: Memento, Lost Lagoon
  • Stampin' Blends: Lost Lagoon
  • Accessories: Blending Brush, Stampin Dimensionals

No card is complete without finishing the inside and envelope with a coordinating image and a strip of card stock. Keep it simple!

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team has created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space. Here's a direct link to our wonderful Design Team's personal blogs:

Krafty Chicks Challenge #828: CHRISTMAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a CHRISTMAS or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

 #828 CHRISTMAS

So here's a little fun Christmas card. I started with a sketch, then I picked my DSP, then I couldn't make the DSP work with the sketch with the idea I had in my head, so I changed the sketch and now I'm totally happy. It's not always easy to play with non-traditional colours for a Christmas theme, maybe that's just me.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Wild Bunch (June Product of The Month), Winter Gift (PP Nov 2019)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White, Poppy Parade
  • DSP: Merry Bold & Bright
  • Ink Pads: Basic Black Hybrid
  • Stampin' Blends: Basic Black, Real Red, Gray Granite, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade, Color Lifter
  • Accessories: Stitched Shaped dies, Stampin' Dimensionals

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I stamped a coordinating image and a little more DSP. Quick and easy and done.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for CHRISTMAS week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

  • Ink Pads: VersaMark, Basic Black Hybrid, Balmy Blue, Lemon Lolly

No card is complete without finishing the inside of the card and the envelope. Keep it simple with a few coordinating image.
