Supremely Awesome Winter Card

Hello! Welcome to my humble blog. Today I'd like to share with you a card I created just for fun and as part of my #24for24: create and blog at least 3 times a week.

I am playing with two challenges today.

Freshly Made Sketches #617

Color Throwdown #774

Only, I went with craft colour instead of Ivory in the colour combo.

Here I'm showcasing most of the products I used to create this card. Although many products are retired, they still have a lot of life left to them and they should be used up not ignored (as I've done in the past). Another part of my #24for24 is to use up my stash, so you'll see many more cards created with retired items.

No card is complete in my opinion if one doesn't decorate the inside and the envelope. I do keep it simple with a bit of card stock and DSP.

Hope you enjoyed my make for today. I had fun creating it. See you again soon!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #660: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

I have been playing with the soon-to-be-retired stamp sets, trying to show them so more love before they go away. There's even a few sets that haven't been inked yet. Today I'm showcasing Amazing Silhouettes. I played with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the Color Throwdown challenge.

I had a little fun with Decorative Masks again. I like the soft look in the background. And it added the touch of yellow that I needed to complete the challenge.

As for the inside of the card and the envelope, I kept it just as CAS with a stamped image and more masking.

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Friday Inspiration: Friendly Gnomes

Happy Friday everyone! It’s almost the weekend, hope you scheduled some “ME time” in your craft space.

Here’s this week’s Friday Inspiration card using the Friendly Gnomes stamp set, the Heart punch and the Alphabet A La Mode dies.

If you know me, you know I’m all about gnomes. Have been for a couple of years, maybe because it’s the trend but maybe not. I have a Valentine one, a Christmas one, a Thanksgiving/fall one (thanks Jessica), a wind chime (thanks Ski) that will never go outside cuz I don’t want to ruin it, all three stamp sets from Stampin Up!, and of course a whole bunch scattered around in my flower beds (a Mother’s Day gift). I’m not tired of them yet.

I followed along with Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown’s current challenges.

 Supplies I used:

I completed the cards set by decorating the inside of the card and envelope with a bit of DSP and a heart.

I hope this inspires you to get creative in your craft space this weekend.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #646: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Seems weird to be creating more Christmas card, didn't the season just finish?  Lol! But let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week anyway! We can have a head start.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to create for this week's Christmas challenge. I am done with that season. The tree was finally put away on Monday, all trace of the holiday is gone... except in the craft room. I went looking for a sketch. Found one at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Then for the colours, I played along with the Color Throwdown, not very Christmassy but I was determined to make it work.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple. Here I added a card stock strip and stamped the small deer. I also embossed the envelope flap for more coordination.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Freshly Made Sketches #521

Welcome back. I'm so glad you stopped in today. I have another simple  card to show you today.

I'm playing along with two challenges for this card. My layout is using this week's Freshly Made Sketches. In case you missed it, I made it as one of the Perfect Princesses for last week's challenge. Yay! And for my colour choices, I'm following the Color Throwdown's Valentine charcuterie board colour scheme.

I thought for sure it would be easy using pink, red and kraft together, especially making Valentine cards but I did struggle a bit. I ended up using Petal Pink DSP (this is where I had issues), Real Red matte layer, Melon Mambo for the flowers and Crumb Cake for the base.

Supplies I used:

For the inside of the card, I stamped and coloured the cherry blossom. Have I mentioned how much I love colouring. I also added it to the envelope with some DSP on the flap. Now I have a coordinating set. I'll throw in a tip here:

When colouring with Stampin' Blends on your envelopes, insert a scrap paper in the envelope to absorb the bleed through. I usually remember this step but I was rushing to get it done. Don't do that either!!! I was going to scrap it, as it's not up to my standards to sell or give to customers but then I thought, my close friends and family won't mind the oopsie.

Well that's all for today. Here's hoping you get some crafty time in this weekend.
