Krafty Chicks Challenge #821: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

#821 CAS

Today I am showcasing an alternate card using the April Paper Pumpkin kit: Lakeside Retreat. It has serene vibes and a little bit of a masculine feel. I just started playing with this kit and have already created the three suggested card to get my creative mojo going and two more alternate designs. This one for CAS week and another for next week's Masculine Challenge. And I have so many more idea flowing.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: April 2026 Paper Pumpkin kit: Lakeside Retreat
  • Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie
  • Ink Pads: Pecan Pie
  • Accessories: April 2026 Paper Pumpkin kit die cuts, Blending Brushes, Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Spotlight on Nature Dies, Stampin Dimensionals

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating element like the "drift wood". As the envelopes from the kit already had a pattern, I left it alone. Keep it simple!

The Creative Crafters Challenge #100

Good day my Crafty friends! I hope all is well and that you are creating some crafty time for yourself. I try to get creative at least 3 times a week. It helps that I'm on the Design Team (DT) to some fun and easy challenges. Today I'm showcasing my DT card for The Creative Crafters Challenge #100.

As always, we keep things simple and fun and our challenge is ANYTHING GOES. It doesn't even need to be a card, any paper project hand-made by you counts.

This is another Paper Pumpkin alternative. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I do LOVE the kits as they are designed. I also LOVE challenging myself to come up with a few different designs using some kit components and adding a few products from my stash.

 Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Hugs From Shelli, May 2019 PP Kit
  • Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
  • DSP: May 2019 PP Kit
  • Ink: Early Espresso
  • Accessories: Ribbon from the kit, Stampin' Dimensional

Hope you enjoyed my card today and that it motivates you to get creative. We all need a little me time, why not get crafty?? Upload your project for this week's Anything Goes theme on The Creative Crafters Challenge Blog.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #820: CHRISTMAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a CHRISTMAS or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

 #820 CHRISTMAS

This week, I'm playing along with two challenges. First up, Holly And Ivy Christmas Challenge #204. They've made it simple with Anything Christmas Goes. They are currently looking for a new DT Member. So if you love creating Christmas paper projects, put DT beside your name when you enter the gallery to be considered. I'm thinking about it.

Second challenge is from Try A Sketch On Tuesday #695. It's a lovely sketch but my chickadee was facing the wrong way so I moved the flag banners to the other side. I think that's allowed.

I stamped my image using the new Hybrid ink pads from Stampin' Up! I had to stamp and colour the image three times. First I watercoloured it but the colour bled a bit outside the lines. My fault, wrong paper medium and old water painter. Second one I used my Stampin' Blends but following a different colour combo. I had issues with the Hybrid ink on the off brand paper. Finally, third times the charm! I changed it to a traditional colour scheme and used Stampin' Up!'s wonderful Whisper White card stock. It truly is the best. Here are my results in the close up. It's a good thing I love to colour!

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Beautiful Seaason
  • Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Vellum
  • DSP: really old retired SU! Christmas DSP
  • Ink Pads: Hybrid Basic Black
  • Stampin' Blends: Real Red, Old Olive, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite
  • Accessories: Triple Banner Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I added a little more DSP. Quick and easy and done.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for CHRISTMAS week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #819: BIRTHDAY

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

New month, new challenge starting today. Week one brings us a BIRTHDAY theme on the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Create any paper craft with a birthday theme, male, female, kids, card, scrapbook or even home decor. We hope to see you in the gallery.

#819 BIRTHDAY

I almost sat out for this week's BIRTHDAY Challenge, running out of time. So here's what happened. I'm in my craft room, playing along with a couple of challenges. For the sketch, it's a Case The Designer theme from Stampin' Up! Only Challenge

Then I went looking for a colour challenge. I tried two different combos and both the cards were total flops (in my opinion). One was Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Slush, and Daffodil Delight. The other colour combo was Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie, and Lemon Lime Twist. I just couldn't make it work! So at 9:30 pm, Wednesday night, 2.5 hours before deadline, I give it another go, with two colours. Turns out so much better, I like this card!

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: With You In mind
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White, Pumpkin Pie
  • Ink Pads: VersaMark, Flirty Flamingo
  • Stampin' Write Markers: Melon Mambo
  • Accessories: Heat Tool, White Embossing Powder, Eyelet Blooms Die (Product Of The Month of April), Stampin' Dimensionals

No card is complete without finishing the inside of the card and the envelope. Keep it simple with a little card stock and coordinating image. I even die cut the envelope flap to coordinate.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for BIRTHDAY week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Love To Craft #92: ANYTHING GOES

Good day my Crafty friends! Happy Spring! I'm hoping if I say it enough times Mother Nature will get the memo and leave winter behind in Alberta. We are all SO READY!

It's time to play along with the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. It's a wonderful group of crafty people creating and motivating the viewers to participate in the easy Anything Goes challenge every other month. You have six weeks to make time in your craft space and play along. I can handle that! Can you??

Today, I’m playing along with the Just Add Ink Sketch #784. It's a fun and CAS layout.

Anyone who knows me, I shy away from the colour purple except when it comes to flowers. I haven't met a purple flower I don't love yet. And lilacs are one of my favourites, coming in close second after the African Violet. I can't wait till they are in bloom, for their beauty and the aroma. But for now I'll settle for stamping them.

I like to finish the card set with a matching inside and envelope. Keep it simple with just a little card stock and a coordinating image.

Hope you enjoyed my card today and that it motivates you to get creative. We all need a little me time, why not get crafty?? Upload your project for this week's Anything Goes theme on the LOVE TO CRAFT CHALLENGE BLOG.
