CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge: CTC#418

Let's start by thanking you for stopping in today. I appreciate all of you that take the time stop in and get inspiration from my card creations. And to those who leave a comment: Bless you for the added bonus; it puts a smile on my face and I enjoy reading your kind words.

Today I'm playing with (as the title suggests) CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge: Case The New Catalogue #CTC418. Let's have a look at my card, then I'll give you the details.

I'm on this new kick to create a landscape and a portrait version of each card. Not sure how long it's going to last but I'm going to roll with it as long as I can for now.

I'm not sure which direction I prefer. Let me know in the comment section below if you have a favourite: Landscape above or Portrait below.

Now let's see the original catalogue card that I got my inspiration from. I'm casing the right-most card with the lantern from page 25 of the Annual Catalogue 2023-2024.

I don't have many of the elements featured on this card so I needed to improvise a bit. Can you spot the differences?? Zoom in to see a little better.

  • First off, I don't currently own the Lighting The Way stamp set (160868) or dies (160496). I swapped it for Nature's Prints with it's coordinating dies.
  • Next up, the vellum layer. They used Vellum Basics 12"x12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (160839). I swapped it for plain regular vellum that I embossed with the Fern 3D folder.
  • Then comes the focal element, the lantern is die cut from Distressed Gold 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (159237). I need to get me some of that. I used the retired Dry Brushed Metallic DSP for my wreath.
  • I changed the sentiment colour because Bubble Bath (161718) just didn't match. I used Calypso Coral to coordinate with the DSP. I also added a pop of colour.
  • Lastly, I didn't have the lightening bugs and I didn't add some Berry Burst (144243) colour. Again it's a matchy-matchy thing. Instead I found those adorable butterflies in the Sentiment Silhouette dies and use Petal Pink and Calypso Coral to layer them together. And I added some Pretty Peacock sprigs to the mix.

I created these sympathy cards (and a few others) to donate at my local Hospital Gift Shop. All proceeds from the Gift Shop go to their Patient and Comfort Care program. They recently purchased four new wheelchairs (approx $12,000) and a large screen TV for the Long Term Care patients. Last year, they bought a Mobile Lift, Holter Moniters, Broda tilt recliner and a bit more. If you hadn't thought of it before (like me), check out your Hospital Gift Shop for neat gifts and support a great cause.

I never leave the inside of the card or the envelope naked. I keep it simple as to save on expense but mostly save on time. I want the WOW to be the cover, the rest is just matchy-matchy! A simple stamped image and/or card stock (or DSP) is enough to do the trick.

If you'd like to play along with the challenge, check out CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge group page:  and enter your card. You can also post your card in my fun group Diane's Craft Space.

Thank you for stopping in to see what's happening in my craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #653: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome March and a little more winter. I'm hoping Spring comes on time though. The white stuff is getting very tiresome. I'm ready to see the plants sprout from the ground. I'm ready to put away my winter coat. Dare I say it: I'm ready for sandals. Well, I'd have to schedule a pedicure first but I'm ready!!!

Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image (digi or rubber) or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

For this beauty, I decided to case the catalogue again. I had a few scraps sitting on my desk and wanted a crafty way to use them. Have a look on page 23 of the January-April Mini Catalogue. Here's a close up:

I'm glad I kept a few star punched in my stash. They worked perfectly here.

Supplies I used:

I usually keep the inside and the envelope CAS (Clean And Simple) with just a bit of DSP or card stock, maybe even a little stamping.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Thanks, Artistically Inked

Thanks for coming to my blog today!

New Year, New Dreams, New Goals and Taking Action! This is what I told myself on New Year's Eve before the ball dropped. I love card making but I never make time for it. Netflix and Prime TV always win my down time. Well I'm going to change that for 2022!

Today I am participating in two challenges with one card doing double duty. Here's the card:

Many demonstrators around the world are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop later in the month, so please vote for my project. You can do that HERE.

Have you heard of Kylie Bertucci?? She is a very successful Stampin' Up! demonstrator in Australia. Every month she hosts an International Blog Hop. Every month, I say I'm going to play along but I don't. New Year, New dreams, New Goals And Take Action! And here I am, playing along.

Supplies I used:

As you know by now, I love decorating the inside of the card and the envelope. Here I kept it really simple with stamped flowers and leaves.

I also played along with the demonstrators on a Facebook group called CASEing The Catty. This week's theme: Case the Mini Catty Cover.

If you haven't done so already, I would really appreciate it if you took a minute to VOTE for my card. Look for entry #19. Just click on the heart in the upper right-hand corner.

Thank you for stopping in to see what's happening in my craft space.
