Krafty Chicks Challenge #843: MASCULINE

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. MASCULINE is the theme this week and good luck to you. I struggle with cards for men. I love flowers and frills so I tend to buy more feminine stamp sets and play with those. I'll have to dig deep for masculine stamp set and dust them off before playing. Here we go!

 #843 MASCULINE

I am kind of last minute with my MASCULINE card this week. Thankfully Freshly Made Sketches had an easy layout to play with.

I'm also trying my hand with the Creative Challenge from Stampin' Up! The colour combo is a tough one. I couldn't think of a way to as the soft pink.

I don't have Barely Blush or Hydrangea Hue colours either. So I cheated a bit because the DSP has the Hydrangea Hue but I had to use Petal Pink instead. It's all good though! It goes well together!

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Sentimental Rose- Paper Pumpkin April 2019
  • Card Stock: Blackberry Bliss, Petal Pink, Pecan Pie, Mossy Meadow
  • DSP: Delicate Dreams
  • Ink Pads: Mossy Meadow
  • Stampin' Blends: Pecan Pie, Blackberry Bliss
  • Accessories: Mountain Air Dies, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Stampin' Dimensionals

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by just adding a coordinating die cut and image.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration from the Design Team for MASCULINE week. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #842: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

#842 CAS

This week I'm playing with a Totallyawake4-life's sketch challenge. One day while scrolling Facebook, one of her creations caught my eye. Then I noticed Margaret plays along and shares many challenges. She was (actually still is) everywhere on my Facebook feed, in many of the groups I follow, and even in the Krafty Chicks Challenge gallery. So I think it's fine time I play along with her sketch challenge #TA4L023.

And since we are having beautiful fall weather (little windy though), I thought I'd play with some pumpkin. Instead of a big block shape of card stock or DSP in the background, I thought the gate die was a great substitute.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Painted Pumpkins
  • Card Stock: Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Basic White
  • Ink Pads: Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie
  • Accessories: Painted Pumpkin Dies, Blending Brush, Painted Pumpkins Decorative Masks, Linen Thread, Speckled Dots, Stampin Dimensionals

No card is complete without finishing the inside and the envelope with a coordinating element like some pumpkins. Keep it simple!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #841: CHRISTMAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a CHRISTMAS or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

 #841 CHRISTMAS

I went looking through my retired Paper Pumpkin kits and found that the Nests Of Christmas was perfect for last week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge #756.

For the inside of the card, I simply added a strip of pattern paper. Keeping it simple! And because the envelope was already pretty, the card set was done.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for CHRISTMAS week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #840: BIRTHDAY

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

New month, new challenge starting today. Week one brings us a BIRTHDAY theme on the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Create any paper craft with a birthday theme, male, female, kids, card, scrapbook or even home decor. We hope to see you in the gallery.

#840 BIRTHDAY

When I first saw the Shadow Block technique (or maybe it's more a layout than technique), I wanted to try it. What better DSP to showcase than August 2026's Product of The Month: Glow of Harvest. You may not see it very well but the DSP is shimmery, very elegant and very fall.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Fabulous Sayings
  • Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Cajun Craze
  • DSP: Glow of Harvest
  • Ink Pads: VersaMark
  • Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Streaked Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

No card is complete without finishing the inside of the card and the envelope. Keep it simple with a little DSP.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for BIRTHDAY week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

 #839 MASCULINE

Sadly this week I need to have a condolence card ready. One of our long time cherished customers has been battling cancer for the last two years is losing the fight. In case you don't know, my husband and I have owned and run a pizzeria in a small town for the last 21 years. We have customers that come and go. And we have customers that become friends. Larry (Lily) is that guy that always brings a smile when he walks into the room, he was full of funny stories and we could tell he really loved life. I especially loved the way he doted on his wife and supported her hobbies. He will be missed by many people.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Supremely Awesome, Kindness & Compassion
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White, Basic Black
  • Ink Pads: Memento, VersaMark
  • Stampin' Blends: Smokey Slate, Light Lemon Lolly, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Cajun Craze, Dark Poppy Parade, Misty Moonlight, SU800, SU700
  • Accessories: Forever Plaid Embossing Folder, Everyday Arches dies, white embossing powder, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by just adding coordinating images.

#838 CAS

With Thanksgiving around the corner for us Canadians, I thought I'd create a few lovely fall Thank You cards to have ready in my stash. I'm not sure if these are fall flowers but it does use fall-ish colours. If you don't recognize these flowers, they are from the July 2026 Paper Pumpkin kit. There's so many flowers in this kit, one can create for days.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Hooray For Birthdays, July Paper Pumpkin kit
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral
  • Accessories: Amazing Thanks Dies, Stampin Dimensionals

No card is complete without finishing the inside and the envelope with a coordinating element. Keep it simple!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #836: BIRTHDAY

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

New month, new challenge starting today. Week one brings us a BIRTHDAY theme on the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Create any paper craft with a birthday theme, male, female, kids, card, scrapbook or even home decor. We hope to see you in the gallery.

#836 BIRTHDAY

Most times that I get creative, I start with a sketch. And most often it's from the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Then from there I pick a stamp set and DSP. I let the DSP pick the colours. Then I make it all work together. That's my creative thought process! So this week, that's what I did. Here's the sketch:

It's actually last week's sketch so I didn't enter their challenge but I do want to give them credit. From the sketch, I wondered if I had such a big flower stamp... of course I do. And I knew this stamp set had a coordinating DSP. So that checked all the boxes and I got started.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Friendly Hello
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White, Fresh Fresia
  • DSP: Friendly Hello
  • Ink Pads: Memento, Granny Apple Green
  • Stampin' Blends: Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral
  • Accessories: Meant To Bee Dies, Banner Builder Punch, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals

No card is complete without finishing the inside of the card and the envelope. Keep it simple with a little DSP and/or coordinating image.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for BIRTHDAY week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.
