Krafty Chicks Challenge #670: AnyThing Goes (ATG)

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

I can't believe we are at the end of June, half the year has gone by already. In my neck of the woods, it's Stampede time. Our small town is hustling and bustling with over 30,000 people coming for the largest outdoor Canadian pro rodeo. One week filled with chuckwagon racing, bareback riding, saddle bronc, team roping, ladies barrel racing, bull riding and so much more. There's even an amusement park to entertain children of all ages, a parade, fireworks and concerts every night. Let's just say: it's a loud, fun, busy time.

This week on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog, it's Anything Goes week. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally Anything Goes!

Here's my project:

I didn't think I would have time to create a whole new card, I was just going  to "borrow" one of the cards from a rescheduled Card Class. But then I saw the CASE-ing Tuesday sketch this week and a quick and easy card idea popped in my head. Here's the sketch:

I went with a full card instead of a Note Card. And for the background matte layer, I used a blending brush with Lost Lagoon ink, then added the bouquet flower die and two sentiments.

I could have used white embossing powder but I really wanted to keep it quick and simple. And though it may be difficult to read the sentiments, that is not the case in person. This close-up shows up a bit better.

I always like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple. This time a little card stock strip and some light blended colour so that you will still be able to see the writing.

Krafty Chicks Chllenge #669: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

I had so much fun colouring and creating this card. I know , I know, I say that every time I colour but if you know me, my husband and I own a pizzeria: Pizza D'Oro. So I was really happy to see this stamp set in the new catalogue.
I'm following along CASE-ing Tuesday's sketch off a Facebook group I just found.

Our Pizza Shop's colours are yellow (Pizza D'Oro = Golden Pizza) and blue (hubby was born in Greece) so I used those colours. I took a close up pic cuz I am so happy with my colouring...except for the "bleeding". Guess I went too heavy with colour close to the edges. I tried fixing it with the Color Lifter but that didn't work so well. I also went back and coloured in the hair and moustache in black.

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #668: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

We finally got rain today so I had to celebrate with this fella. I remember as a kid wearing those black, ugly rubber boots and my raincoat, going outside to play in the rain and the puddles. I wasn't afraid of getting wet back then or getting cold. Nowadays, I cringe at going out in the rain, maybe I'll melt like the Wicked Witch Of The West in the Wizard Of Oz.

This card was fun to create and colour and use my brushes. You wouldn't know it but this is my third take. I kept adding too many rain drops and covering the card. Kept thinking it needs one more...maybe one more...nope one more, well darn that's too many. Yes, I struggle with CAS. In the end though, I figure  it out.

I don't struggle so much to keep the inside of the card and the envelope CAS though. This time, I simply stamped some cloud images and a few puddles.
