Krafty Chicks Challenge #751: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

I'm getting ready for Valentine's Day! I've already create a card for my sweetie. I'm just waiting for the head count for my grandsons classes before I sit down to design them. That takes the longest time.

I'm using Layout #18 from page 22 of Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalogue. This template was fun to play with. I kept a lot of white space but I had to dry emboss some panels. Don't you think Red and Gold represent LOVE! I do, So does hearts, lots of hearts to show lots of love.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Snow Day (166490)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Gold Foil Sheets (132622)
  • DSP: Most Adored (retired)
  • Ink Pads: Real Red (147084)
  • Accessories: Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder (164049), Heart Punch (retired), Banner Punch (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating image. I also used the same decorative mask (stencil) in the background. Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple!

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #750: Christmas

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog.

Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a Christmas or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

I'm using Layout #17 of Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalogue this week. A very simple sketch that uses your scrap strips of DSP or even card stock will work here and a large focal image. While adhering my strips, I accidentally dropped it and it was slightly crooked. So I set the other pieces slightly askew too and I liked it. So then of course it only felt right to tilt the sentiment. Easy peasy and done quickly!

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Carols of Christnas (retired)
  • Card Stock: Early Espresso (119686), Basic White (159276)
  • DSP: (retired, so old I don't remember the name)
  • Ink Pads: Early Espresso (147114)
  • Accessories: Sparkle gems (161288), Stampin Dimensionals (104430)

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I added a little more DSP. Quick and easy and done

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #749: BIRTHDAY

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

I am having so much fun on the Design Team (DT) for the Krafty Chicks Challenge that I signed on for another year. Let me give you a small bio: we are a team of 4 designers dedicated to bring you inspiration on weekly challenges. We've changed things up a bit for 2025. Our goal is to keep paper crafting simple with these themes: BIRTHDAY, CHRISTMAS, CAS (Clean And Simple), and MASCULINE. Ok maybe the last one isn't so simple... if you're me. We all need these cards in our stash anyway, so why not have a fun challenge to play along with. We hope to see you in the gallery. Now let's get started with challenge:

#749 BIRTHDAY

What's the first thing you notice about this card??

I see purple! If you know me, you know I've been saying for years that I'm not a fan of any shade of purple with the exception of flowers. Yet purple seems to get thrown at me at every chance. And lately, I've been okay with it! So moving forward, I will be embracing the purple in my life.

For this BIRTHDAY card, I'm using Layout #16 from page 22 of Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalogue. I love that they have included these card designs to inspire us paper crafter who sometimes get stuck on where to begin.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: You Are Amazing (Retired)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159299), Wisteria Wonder (Retired)
  • DSP: Have A Cuppa (Retired)
  • Ink Pads: Wisteria Wonder (Retired)
  • Accessories: Triple Banner Punch (Retired), Detailed Birthday Edgelits (Retired), Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins (164970, coming January 7th FREE in SAB brochure)

No card is complete without finishing the inside of the card and the envelope. Keep it simple with a little DSP and/or coordinating image.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for BIRTHDAY week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #748: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme. Just create something that is suitable for any special event, like wedding, sympathy, thank you and so on.

When I saw this pup in the upcoming Mini Catalogue (goes live January 7), along with the other images, I put it on my pre-order list. Isn't he so darling?? It's been a while since I made a shaker card and I forgot how many steps it takes. It took me a few tries to get all the little gems to cooperate only to find out that some of them are too thick and aren't shaking nicely with the others.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: One More Year (164777, orderable after January 7, 2025)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Pumpkin Pie 9105117)
  • DSP: Friends Of The Ocean (164684, orderable after January 7, 2025)
  • Ink Pads: Memento (132708)
  • Stampin' Blends: Crumb Cake (154882), Gray Granite (154886), Pumpkin Pie (154897), Melon Mambo (153112)
  • Accessories: Window Sheet (142314), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Linen Thread (104199), Gems (retired)

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by just adding some DSP.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #747: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

There's a week left till Christmas and the countdown is on. I'm done with my Christmas crafting for the season. I'm done the present shopping. I'm as done as I'm going to get with the decorating and the tree is up. All that's left is a bit of last minute cleaning and the grocery shop. How about you??? Are you checking things off your to do list??

For today's card, I'm play with new products from the Mini Catalogue and SAB flyer that will become available to customers on January 7, 2025. Lucky me, as a demonstrator, I can order a month before customers. I even received my hard copy of each publication. So much more fun flipping through pages than looking online. I ordered a few extra copies, so if you're needing one, reach out to me.

In case you didn't notice this is Layout #14 from page 22 of the Annual Catalogue. I changed it up a bit to suit my needs by making the focal panel smaller in size and adding a matter layer. I tried it without but it was hard to just let it go real simple and once I layered the matte, it popped out and I couldn't go back.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Natural Botanicals (164831), One More Year (164777) AVAILABLE January 7, 2025
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Shaded Spruce (146981)
  • DSP: Bloom Impressions 12" x 12" (164944) FREE SAB AVAILABLE January 7, 2025
  • Ink Pads: Shaded Spruce (147088)
  • Accessories: Paper Snip Scissors (103579), Tinsel Gems 4 Pack (161624), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating image and some DSP. Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #746: CHRISTMAS

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog.

Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a Christmas or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week

Ready or not, Christmas season is upon us. All my Christmas cards are done but sadly with Canada Post on strike in Canada, I won't be mailing any out. That won't stop me from hand delivering a few to my local friends and family though.

This is also my last Christmas card creation for the year. I do have 4 more Holiday themed cards to showcase in my Facebook group but they are ready to photograph and post. I love making Christmas cards! I can create them all year long but after making so many since September, by December, I'm so done with it.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Most Wonderful Time (retired)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Old Olive (100702)
  • DSP:  Most Wonderful Time (retired)
  • Ink Pads: Real Red (147084), Garden Green (147089) , Old Olive (147090) , Gold (retired)
  • Accessories: Most Wonderful Time dies (retired), Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I add a little more DSP. Quick and easy and done.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.
