Krafty Chicks Challenge #775: BIRTHDAY

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Well, I blinked and it's now July. Week one has a BIRTHDAY theme on the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Create any paper craft with a birthday theme, male, female, kids, card, scrapbook or even home decor. We hope to see you in the gallery. Now let's get started with challenge

#775 BIRTHDAY

I created this card with the June Paper Pumpkin kit using last week's layout from Freshly Made Sketches. I like to get creative with the kits each month and make some alternative to show my customers how versatile Paper Pumpkin is: you can assemble the beautiful cards from the kit as intended and enjoy a simple crafty session or if you dare, chop up the card stock, trim the die cuts and create from a vision from your imagination.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Full Of Charm (Paper Pumpkin June 2025)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Berry Burst (144243)
  • DSP: Full Of Charm (Paper Pumpkin June 2025)
  • Ink Pads: VersaMark (102283), Mossy Meadow (147111), Berry Burst (147143), Pretty Peacock (150083)
  • Accessories: Blending Brush (153611), Gold cord (retired), Gold Sequins (from the kit), Heat Tool (129053), Wow White Embossing Powder (165679), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside of the card and the envelope. Keep it simple with a little DSP and/or coordinating image.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for BIRTHDAY week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Love To Craft Challenge Blog #87: Month

Good day my Crafty friends! It's already July and time to play along with the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. It's a wonderful group of crafty people creating and motivating the viewers to participate in the easy Anything Goes challenge every other month. You have six weeks to make time in your craft space and play along. I can handle that! Can you??

As I left things to the last minute…again, story of my life, I went with a quick and simple Inspiration Layout on page 24 of Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalogue 2025-2026. I did a masculine version of this layout last week for a different challenge and I’ll have a kids version for Sketchy Saturday on my Facebook group.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Natural Botanicals (164831), Hello Spring (PP Feb 2025)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Afternoon Azure (161719)
  • Ink Pads: VersaMark (102283), Granny Apple Green (147095), Crushed Curry (147087), Pecan Pie (161665)
  • Accessories: Heat Tool (129053), Wow White Embossing Powder (165679), Starburst Sequins (165539, Online Exclusive)

I like to finish the card set with a matching inside and envelope. Kept it simple with a few stamped images.

Hope you enjoyed my card today and that it motivates you to get creative. We all need a little me time, why not get crafty?? Upload your project for this week's Anything Goes theme on the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. This Anything Goes challenges runs from today, July 1 to August 15. Plenty of time to get inky!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #774: MASCULINE

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. MASCULINE is the theme this week and good luck to you. I struggle with cards for men. I love flowers and frills so I tend to buy more feminine stamp sets and play with those. I'll have to dig deep for masculine stamp set and dust them off before playing. Here we go!

 #774 MASCULINE

I have owned this stamp set for a really long time. Bought it used online and have never played with it once. Isn't that crazy?? My grandson's birthday is coming up and he's really into cars. Started when he was a toddler by collecting many Cars (the movie) vehicles. He would line them up along the coffee table and he would know the name of each one. I know McQueen and Mater.

Here's a close up. I used Layout 6 from Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalogue as a starting point. By Basic Beige at first, I was thinking the card would be muted as it's not part of the layout but then it looked unfinished. You know me and CAS designs: too much white space! Then by adding the blue outline the beige looked like shading and I liked it so I coloured it in with my water pen.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Happiest Birthday, You Are Amazing, Need For Speed (all retired)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Afternoon Azure 9161719)
  • Ink Pads: Afternoon Azure (161663), Lemon Lime Twist (147145), Basic Beige (163806)
  • Accessories: Watercolour Pen (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals (104403)

I kept the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple just by adding the car image and colouring it in. I will go back and add the beige for shading, it'll look so much better.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #773: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

#773 CAS

When Freshly Made Sketches revealed this week's challenge, I knew exactly what I was going to create. That doesn't happen often! I just needed to pick the colours. I absolutely love the Garden Blooms Suite, most likely cuz it has great floral images to colour. And we all know I LOVE TO COLOUR!

I had a hard time with all the white space again, so I broke it up with a bit of Basic Beige. Remember to do your stamping first before running the embossing folder through.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Gallery Blooms (165211), Paper Pumpkin August 2022: Sweet Sunflower (retired)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Basic Beige (164511) Soft Sea Foam (146988)
  • Ink Pads: Memento (132708), Granny Apple Green (147095), Pecan Pie (161665)
  • Stampin' Blends: Fresh Freesia (155518), Petal Pink (154893), Delightful Daffodil (154883), Soft Sea Foam (154902), Granny Apple Green (154885)
  • Accessories: Classic Black Matte Dots (retired), Beautiful Motifs Dies (165205), Gallery Blooms Dies (165212), Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder (161600), Blending Brushes (153611), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating die cut. And I also coloured up the flower again on the envelope.Keep it simple!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #772: CHRISTMAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a CHRISTMAS or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

 #772 CHRISTMAS

I haven't inked up this little Christmas chickadee in a long while. It was once well loved and the stamp has the ink stains to prove it. I used my watercolour pencils to add colour to the image and a window sheet to add the water splatter in the background.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Beautiful Season (retired)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Basic Black (121045)
  • Ink Pads: Memento (132108), Gray Granite (147118)
  • Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Dies (retired), Water colour pencil (161700), Window Sheet (142314), Sparkle Gems (161288)

I didn't stamp the inside of the card yet as I am already late posting. But I will stamp a little part of the holly branch and give it a quick colour. As for the envelope, I just reused an envelope that I received from a friend and added the gold lined label to cover my name. Why recycle when you can reuse!

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for CHRISTMAS week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #770: ANYTHING GOES

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

This week on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog, it's ANYTHING GOES week. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally ANYTHING GOES!

 #770 ANYTHING GOES

This time around I created a kind of thinking of you card. As I was digging through my many pushed to the side and almost forgotten old Paper Pumpkin kits, I stumbled upon this one. I was a little stuck on what to create as an alternative then this layout popped in my head. I wanted to use the negative of the label die cut as a frame. When I adhered the foliage, it got lost and was quite plain so I traced them with a black marker to make them stand out a bit more. Love it! Easy technique!

Products used

  • Stamp set: March 2022 Paper Pumpkin- Beyond The Horizon
  • Card Stock: Kit products
  • DSP: kit products
  • Ink Pads: VersaMark (102283), Crushed Curry (147087)
  • Stampin' Write Markers: Basic Black
  • Accessories: Blending Brush (153611), White Embossing Powder (165679), Matte Black Dots (retired), Black Stampin' Dimensionals (150893)

I like to keep the inside of the card clean and simple with just a little DSP and a coordinating die cut. The envelope included in the kit was perfect on its own and needed no alterations.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for ANYTHING GOES week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #769: MASCULINE

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. MASCULINE is the theme this week and good luck to you. I struggle with cards for men. I love flowers and frills so I tend to buy more feminine stamp sets and play with those. I'll have to dig deep for masculine stamp set and dust them off before playing. Here we go!

 #769 MASCULINE

I found this very masculine Paper Pumpkin kit and created a card for a class. I was left with a few bits and pieces so this card was created. I loved that pattern paper from the kit but I didn't struggle to cut it up, which is weird.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: May 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit: The Best There Is
  • Card Stock: Basic Beige (164511)
  • DSP: May 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit: The Best There Is
  • Ink Pads: Early Espresso (147714)
  • Accessories: Linen thread (104199), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by just adding some DSP and a coordinating image. This DSP is not from the kit.
