Krafty Chicks Challenge #800: MASCULINE

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Sorry I'm late with my post this week, it's been hectic around here. I'm sure it was for many of you as well. My family celebrated the holiday yesterday. We had an enjoyable, loud, busy, fun day, as always. I'll be honest, it's nice to have a quiet lonely day today.

Now, welcome to another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. MASCULINE is the theme this week. Here we go!

 #800 MASCULINE

I ordered some new playthings as an early Christmas present to myself. I'm not a farm girl, a true city slicker here, but I wanted/needed more masculine stamp sets to get creative with. And since my little town is surrounded by farms and acreages, this stamp bundle will get enough use.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Tractor & Co
  • Card Stock: Pretty Peacock, Basic White
  • DSP: Plaid Tidings (retired)
  • Ink Pads: Memento, Garden Green
  • Accessories: Tractor & Co dies, Spotlight On Nature dies, Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (retired), Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by just adding some DSP.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration from the Design Teamfor MASCULINE week . There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #799: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

#799 CAS

We are just one week away from Christmas, I hope you're ready. My cards have been done months ago, but they haven't made it to the post office yet. EEK! I still have two more gifts to buy and then wrapping. The menu is finalized. So not much more to worry about here.

I think this flower looks like a peony or it could be a double poppy too. For this card, I went with bright pink because I wish my peonies were this colour. Mine are a light soft pink, still pretty and very fragrant. I used my blending brush and Melon Mambo ink to create the ombre effect on the embossed specialty paper.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Simply Said, Garden Blooms
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White, Basic Black
  • DSP: Irresistably Yours
  • Ink Pads: Memento, VersaMark, Melon Mambo
  • Stampin' Blends: Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pool Party
  • Accessories: Heat Tool, White Embossing Powder, Blending Brush, More Messages Die, Gallery Blooms Die, Banner Die, Purple sequins

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating banner. Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple!

#797 BIRTHDAY

Krafty Chicks Challenge #796: MASCULINE

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. MASCULINE is the theme this week and good luck to you. I struggle with cards for men. I love flowers and frills so I tend to buy more feminine stamp sets and play with those. I'll have to dig deep for masculine stamp set and dust them off before playing. Here we go!

 #796 MASCULINE

While cleaning up my craft space, I had to put away many stamp set on the shelf. I also took the time to reorganize my themes. Not sure why they get messed up... I'm the only one touching them and obviously NOT putting them back where they belong. That's when I found this deer. It's perfect for a masculine card and it's still hunting season for a little while yet in Alberta.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Nature's Beauty, Guy Greetings, Buffalo Check
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White, Garden Green
  • Ink Pads: Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Garden Green
  • Stampin' Write Markers: Basic Black
  • Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Dies (retired), Linen Thread, Streaked Dots, Blender Pen, Watercolor Pencils

I kept the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by stamping a coordinating image and the buffalo check patter..

Krafty Chicks Challenge #795: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

#795 CAS

You can't imagine just how much fun I had creating this week's cards. It was so fun that I created two, one in pinks and one in blues.

I was inspired by Denise, one of the other Design Team members of the Krafty Chicks. See the card on her blog The Crafty Den. I'm also playing along with a couple of other challenges, one from Stampin' Up! and the other from a Stampin' Up! Demo Facebook group. They can be found in my fun/inspo Facebook group: Diane's Craft Space . It's a colour combo and use snowflakes.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Festive Friends, Delicate Pines
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White
  • Ink Pads: Memento, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Afternoon Azure, Melon Mambo
  • Stampin's Blends: Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Afternoon Azure
  • Accessories: Blending Brushes, Paper Snip Scissors, Foam Adhesive Strips or Stampin' Dimensionals.

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating image. I also used a strip of cards stock. Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #794: CHRISTMAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a CHRISTMAS or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

 #794 CHRISTMAS

I had a couple of friends over one night and we all brought something to play with to the table. One lady had 3-4 kits to finish up and the other lady brought some Mix & Match Ephemera. I needed to create Christmas cards anyway, not just for this challenge, so I thought it best to slightly alter the October 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Home For The Holidays (Paper Pumpkin October 2023), Ho Ho Ho (Paper Pumpkin October 2022)
  • Card Stock: From the Home For The Holidays PP kit
  • Ink Pads: Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals

I loved the envelopes included in the kit. I didn't have to do anything, just left it as is. For the inside of the card though, I added a strip of card stock and some little trees to coordinate with the card.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for CHRISTMAS week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.
