Krafty Chicks Challenge #767: CHRISTMAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a CHRISTMAS or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

 #767 CHRISTMAS

I first saw this card on a Facebook group and thought I'd like to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) it in the near future. Then while crafting with a friend, she shows me this same card she saved on her phone. So I definitely HAD to case it for this week's CHRISTMAS challenge.

I'd love to give the original card creator credit but I can't seem to find the card on the group page or using Google Images. If you know who this person is, I'd love her info.

 Products used:

  • Stamp Set: Festival of Trees
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Shaded Spruce (146981), Silver Foil (163387)
  • Ink Pads: Shaded Spruce (147099), Granny Apple Green (147.95)
  • Accessories: Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets (retired), Silver Cord (retired), Delicate Ornaments Thinlits (retired), small Star Punch (retired), Paper Snip Scissors, Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I stamped a few trees. Quick and easy and done.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for CHRISTMAS week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Love To Craft Challenge #86 May

Good day my Crafty friends! It's already May and time to play along with the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. It's a wonderful group of crafty people creating and motivating the viewers to participate in the easy Anything Goes challenge every other month. You have six weeks to make time in your craft space and play along. I can handle that! Can you??

Here I'm using the April Paper Pumpkin kit: Inked Occasions. As soon as I saw the sneak peek for this kit, I knew I was buying it. I love the alcohol ink background and the colours work great together. After I quickly assembled the three intended card to the kit, I put my creative cap on and started cutting up the card bases for my alternative designs. This is a simple one using Layout #18 from page 22 of the Annual Catalogue.

Products used:

  • Stamp Set: April Paper Pumpkin Kit: Inked Occasions
  • Card Stock:Thick Basic White (159229), Berry Burst (144243)
  • Ink Pads: Berry Burst ( 147143), Gorgeous Grape (147099)
  • Accessories: Kit components, Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

I like to finish the card set with a matching inside and envelope.

Hope you enjoyed my card today and that it motivates you to get creative. We all need a little me time, why not get crafty?? Upload your project for this week's Anything Goes theme on the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. This Anything Goes challenges runs from today, May 1 to June 15th. Plenty of time to get inky!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #766: BIRTHDAY

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Well, it's now May and the beginning of garden season. Time to clean up the yard too. Where did the time go! Anyway, on the first week of the month, we have a BIRTHDAY theme on the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Create any paper craft with a birthday theme, male, female, kids, card, scrapbook or even home decor. We hope to see you in the gallery. Now let's get started with challenge

#766 BIRTHDAY

While I was playing with my April Paper Pumpkin kit: Inked Occasions, I came up with this simple card idea. I absolutely love that alcohol inked background and I dusted off this old retired stamp set to give it some wow. After fussy cutting the flowers, I used a Black Marker to thicken the outline. And there's the WOW! Maybe it's just me.

Products used: (I'll come back to fill in the blanks. It's late as I'm typing this and I didn't have my list close by.)

  • Stamp Set: Band Together (retired)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Basic Black (121045)
  • DSP: April Paper Pumpkin kit: Inked Occasions

Krafty Chicks Challenge #765: MASCULINE

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. MASCULINE is the theme this week and good luck to you. I struggle with cards for men. I love flowers and frills so I tend to buy more feminine stamp sets and play with those. I'll have to dig deep for masculine stamp set and dust them off before playing. Here we go!

 #765 MASCULINE

This card is made up from elements of an old Paper Pumpkin kit. I'm slowly working my way through stacks of kits sitting in a corner on one of my desks.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: The Best There Is May 2024 PP kit
  • Card Stock: Crumb Cake (120953), Early Espresso (119686)
  • DSP: May 2024: The Best There Is PP kit
  • Ink Pads: Early Espresso (147114)
  • Accessories: Linen Thread (104199), Solid Gems (retired), May 2024 PP kit die cuts, Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple by just adding a stamped image.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration from the Design Teamfor MASCULINE week . There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #764: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

#??? CAS

I often save card designs on my phone and/or iPad as inspiration for a later time. I found this one by Melissa Faust on Facebook way back in January. And I'm just getting to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) it this week. If you click on her name mentioned above, you can see her stunning creation.

Products used:
  • Stamp Set: Umbrella Days (164891)
  • Card Stock: Thick Basic White (159299), Basic Black (121045)
  • DSP: Plaid Tidings (retired)
  • Ink Pads: Pretty Peacock (150083)
  • Stampin' Write Marker: Basic Black (162481), Daffodil Delight (161696)
  • Accessories:Umbrella Days Dies (164894), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a bit of DSP. Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #763: CHRISTMAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a CHRISTMAS or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

 #763 CHRISTMAS

I dusted off the October 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit: Nests of Christmas for this card. I loved the chickadee die cuts so I had to use them and the arched DSP was the discarded centre of one of the sample cards of the kit. I felt it was still missing a little something and the pine branches filled the white space.

 Products used:

  • Stamp Set: October Paper Pumpkin 2024: Nests of Christmas
  • Card Stock: Thick White (159229)
  • DSP: October Paper Pumpkin 2024: Nests of Christmas
  • Ink Pads: Shaded Spruce
  • Accessories: October Paper Pumpkin: Nests of Christmas die cuts, Classic Blc Dots (retired), Stampin' Up! Dimensionals (104430)

This kit has beautiful envelopes so I didn't have to do anything there but I did stamp more pine branches and added a strip of DSP on the inside of the card to finish it off.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for CHRISTMAS week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.
