Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!
Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:
While scrolling through Facebook one day, I stumbled upon a Top Tip from Martin Mayhem. He's a genius and I love casing his cards.
I cased the Basic Black card on the left and then created something similar on Thick Basic White card stock on the right. His Top Tip: Because he would be using the black card base, he didn’t want the fussy cut line glaring in the face. To prevent this, used the Basic Black Stampin’ Blend to colour the line in. Have a look at my samples:
As you can see on the Basic Black card stock background, the black lined images (need to fussy cut the leaves a tad more) has a different flair than the white border one. While you can skip the Top Tip and still have a beautiful card, adding the black border gives you another option, just use which one you love best. Now let's look at it on Thick Basic White card stock. Again, I needed to fussy cut the leaves a tad more, so ignore that. I think I like the black outlined better; it's bolder. I'm not saying I would do this every time since it is time consuming but for those special cards, that deserve a little flair, a little extra, most definitely.
Supplies I used:
- Delicate Dahlias stamp set: retired Sale-A-Bration
- Art Gallery stamp set: 154421
- Memento ink pad: 132708
- VersaMark ink pad: 102283
- Daffodil Delight ink pad: 147094
- Granny Apple Green ink pad: 147095
- White Stampin' Emboss Powder: 155554
- Stampin' Blends Combo pack Granny Apple Green:154885
- Stampin' Blends Combo pack Daffodil Delight: 154883
- Stampin' Blends Combo pack So Saffron: 154905
- Stampin' Blends Combo pack Basic Black: 154843
- Memento refill (splatters): 133456
- Thick Basic White card stock: 159229
- Basic Black card stock: 121045
- Heat Tool: 129053
- Paper Snips Scissors: 103579
- Water Painters: 151298 ( I used the retired aqua painter)
- Gold Elastic cord: retired

As I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS, I stamped the dahlia image and a few of the leaves. It's only after I stamped these that I noticed that I should have used the outline stamps in black ink to keep it in line with the card. It's still pretty though!
