Krafty Chicks Challenge #721: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS. I always have a difficult time with the true CAS design of lots of white space but I've come to realized after all this time that there's a wide interpretation to CAS (Clean And Simple). So just have fun with it.

I needed a thank you card for my June customers and so I came up with this one. And it's got lots of white space that I didn't feel needed filling. Here's a close up of the daisy corner element.

Another close up to show dimension.

Products I used:

  • Stamp sets: Cheerful Daisies (161290), Small Business (163720)
  • Card stock: Thick Basic White (159229), Old Olive (100702), Garden Green (102584)
  • Ink Pads: Daffodil Delight (147094), Pumpkin Pie (147086), Night of Navy (147110), Balmy Blue (147105)
  • Accessories: Blending Brush (153611), Brushed Brass Butterflies (158136), Cheerful Daisies dies (161296), Basic Borders dies (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating image. Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #720: Christmas

Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog.

Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a Christmas or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

If you play your cards right, or should I say make your cards right...for this challenge, you will have at least 12 cards ready for the holiday season. That's a good head start!

For this card, I used the components of an old Paper Pumpkin kit, dating back to October 2021 called Peaceful Christmas and created an alternative. For the most part I do love the kit cards as they are intended but I also like to have fun with them and come up with a few different ideas.

You can't see it well in the photos, I did try to capture it, but the Noel is silver and so are the snow flakes in the background. Photography is not my strong suit.

No need to list the products used this week as it's all from the kit but for the Basic White (159276) card base and Basic Black matte card stock (121045).

To keep the inside of the card clean and simple, I adhered a bit of the left over DSP and the coordinating envelope is from the kit. Quick and easy and done.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #719: Stamps

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

It's the first week of a brand new month, which means it's our STAMP week challenge. As long as something is stamped on your project, (rubber, polymer or digi) (sentiment or image), it qualifies for the challenge.

Today we also should be introducing a new Guest Designer to play in the Hen House with us but the talented Rachelle is staying for another month. Don't forget to send her some love in her comment section. her link is at the end along with our Design Team's links.

For our Stamp challenge this week, I created this fabulous card using my Colour Combo Challenge using the colours from the Mediterranean Blooms Suite. Check out page 34 of the Annual Catalogue 2024-2025 for more inspiration.

I can honestly say at first I thought it easy breezy, those colours go magnificently together. But I don't have the Mediterranean Blooms Suite to play with. I also wanted to use the first layout from page 22, which kind of asks for Designer Series Paper.  I only two packs that are current, an luckily the Countryside Inn DSP uses shades of blue, ie Balmy Blue and Night of Navy.

Once I figured out the DSP, how else was I going to introduce the three other colour but with flowers. And these daisies were perfect for the job. I used a Spnoge dauber to add the orange centres.

Products used

  • Stamp set: Happy Little Things (163706)
  • Card stock: Pumpkin Pie (105117), Daffodil Delight (119683), Garden Green (102584), Basic White (159276)
  • Ink pads: Old Olive (147090), Garden Green (147089), Pumpkin Pie (147086)
  • Accessories: Cheerful Daisies dies (161296), Sponge Dauber (133773)

No card is complete without finishing the inside with a coordinating die and DSP .Same goes for the envelope. Keep it simple.

Thank you so stopping today. Here's a direct link to our wonderful Design Team's personal blogs:
