Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!
Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:
I made this card for my grandson's 8th birthday. He had an outer space theme. Instead of creating my own background, I found this paper in the retired New Horizon DSP that I thought was perfect. All I had to do was stamp the sentiment, an alien and spaceship.
Have you ever tried the Rock & Roll technique? It's quite simple and produces a wow factor to your project. First stamp your image in the light colour, then rock only the edges of the image in the dark colour. I also used a sponge dauber and dabbed the overlap to look blended then stamped onto card stock. Sometimes it's not so great though, so don't despair, just try again. I think I trashed 4 aliens before I was happy.
Supplies I used:
- Blast Off stamp set: retired
- Night of Navy card stock: 100867
- Basic White card stock: 159276
- Night of Navy ink pad: 147110
- Pacific Point ink pad: 147098
- Real Red ink pad: 147084
- Daffodil Delight ink pad: 147094
- Smoky Slate ink pad: 147113
- Pear Pizzazz ink pad: 147104
- Shaded Spruce ink pad: 147088
- New Horizon DSP: retired
- Paper Snip scissors: 103579
- Water Painter: 151298
- Sponge Dauber: 133773
- Stampin' Dimensionals: 104430
I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. It's a perfect time to use up the end bits of DSP. Then stamp an astronaut with flag and shooting stars for the envelope but added an alien for the inside.
Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.
