Krafty Chicks Challenge #631: ATG, Anything Goes

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

I can't believe we are at the end of September already. The beginning of a new school year for those with little kids in their life. The beginning of Fall! Such a beautiful and colourful season, where we find "naked trees" as my grandson said when he was littler. Another fall feature: Pumpkin Spice and Apple Cider. Oh and hoodie weather!

This week on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog, it's Anything Goes week. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally Anything Goes!

Here's my project:

I created this card for a Tuesday Night Live @7pm video on my Facebook group: Diane's Craft Space. I have a series where I pick a stamp set of the month, usually a month ahead theme, and I design one card for every Tuesday of that month. You can play along by purchasing a kit ($5 per card, so $20 per month, sometimes $25 if there's 5 Tuesdays). Or get it FREE with any order ($45 or more) from my online store using the current Host Code. FYI: October's stamp set is Painted Poppies.

 Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, this time with just a little DSP and scraps of card stock.

I invite you to head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Anything Goes week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #630: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

I love the way this card turned out. I had so much fun creating it. I had the embossed background in my stash of "finish it later" basket, all it needed was a little bit of colour. I started with Blending Brushes then decided the flowers need deep colour, so out came the water painters. I followed along with September's Su! Colour Challenge on Facebook.

 Supplies I used:

I finished the card set with a little DSP to the inside of the card and the envelope flap. And for the final touch to tie it all together: butterflies. Clean and Simple!

Now head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #629: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

I created this card for my Tuesday Night Live @ 7pm for last week. I had some technological issues and my video wouldn't record like it normally did. I tried again this week and I had some other issues and got very frustrated before I gave up.

I love sunflowers, actually I love most flowers. Heck, some of  them are even considered weeds. But this time of year, I think of sunflowers. It was obvious when I saw the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set that I was buying it. It'll be a keeper for a long time.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope CAS as well. Just a little DSP and some splatters will do  the trick.

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #628: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

I prepared this card for an upcoming Christmas Stamp-A-Stack (SAS) and I followed 52 Christmas Card Throwdown  sketch challenge. A SAS is an event where you make stack of cards. In this case, we will be making 9 cards total with coordinating envelopes. Participants will create 3 cards of each 3 designs. I'm going to say this is the more technical one but still quick and easy to assemble.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope Clean and simple just by adding a bit of DSP and a coordinating stamp, like the holly leaves here.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #627: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome September and let's hope there's a bit more summer left. It's almost Pumpkin Spice season but let's hold off for as long as we can. In Central Alberta we are in the middle of another heat wave. While I'm loving it on my days off, it's a bit too hot in the pizza shop. Thank goodness for cool nights though!

Anywho!! Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image/digi or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

It's also sunflower season. I love sunflowers but my husband won't let me grow them. He thinks the root ball is difficult to dig out when cleaning the yard in preparation for winter. So I admire them in my craft space.

The background was fun to create. I love getting messy in the craft space. I used the Blending Brushes to rub some pink, orange and yellow and overlapped them to create even more shades.

When I was happy with the background, I sprinkled some water with a spritz bottle. I was sure to add some bigger droplets as well as fine mist. Then I watered down a bit of the White ink refill and splattered it with a water painter. I could have skipped this step however, it didn't look much whiter than the spritzed water.

I put some adhesive sheet behind my background where I was going to die cut my sunflower. Then I placed each individual petal in the right spot. If you receive this card, know that I love you or really appreciate something you've done for me. It was fun and calming though, so I would go through the trouble again.

Once all the little bits were in place, I then removed the sunflower outline die cut and I'm saving it for another project. Wait till you see that one! Added some dimensionals to the background. So the petals are flat on the card stock and the background is popped up.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple with some left over bits of blended card stock and leaf outline die cuts. You don't need much to make it pretty and have it coordinate.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.
