Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!
Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Welcome to week 2 of our challenges and that's to use a CHRISTMAS or any holiday/winter theme on your project. I chose to put the spotlight on Christmas this week!
#820 CHRISTMAS
This week, I'm playing along with two challenges. First up, Holly And Ivy Christmas Challenge #204. They've made it simple with Anything Christmas Goes. They are currently looking for a new DT Member. So if you love creating Christmas paper projects, put DT beside your name when you enter the gallery to be considered. I'm thinking about it.
Second challenge is from Try A Sketch On Tuesday #695. It's a lovely sketch but my chickadee was facing the wrong way so I moved the flag banners to the other side. I think that's allowed.
I stamped my image using the new Hybrid ink pads from Stampin' Up! I had to stamp and colour the image three times. First I watercoloured it but the colour bled a bit outside the lines. My fault, wrong paper medium and old water painter. Second one I used my Stampin' Blends but following a different colour combo. I had issues with the Hybrid ink on the off brand paper. Finally, third times the charm! I changed it to a traditional colour scheme and used Stampin' Up!'s wonderful Whisper White card stock. It truly is the best. Here are my results in the close up. It's a good thing I love to colour!- Stamp Set: Beautiful Seaason
- Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Vellum
- DSP: really old retired SU! Christmas DSP
- Ink Pads: Hybrid Basic Black
- Stampin' Blends: Real Red, Old Olive, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite
- Accessories: Triple Banner Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Wow, so pretty and love how you used the vellum to soften the background pattern and showcase your beautiful bird and branch image. We would love you to join our sister challenge at Double Trouble for their 3-2-1 recipe as you met Thing 1's requirement and using the TSOT sketch you would be eligible for 3 chances in DTC's random drawing. Hope to see you there... infor for link in the TSOT post. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love this - the vellum softens the background just enough for the main image. Thanks for sharing with us at TSOT :)
ReplyDeleteDiane, your card is so beautiful! I love your interpretation of our TSOT sketch. You inclusion of the vellum circle really has an impact to focus the eye on the adorable little chickadee. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us at Try A Sketch On Tuesday!!! -Donna
ReplyDeleteHello Diane, your card is absolutely gorgeous, great design, Marlene
ReplyDeleteDiane, this is such a beautiful Christmas card! I remember that stamp set and used it many times over the years. I did eventually sell it or give it away to make room for newer sets. And it's definitely ok that you swapped the card around! I do it ALL the time! Thanks for sharing with us at Try a Sketch on Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely take on our sketch. Great use of vellum. Good for you for persevering. The card is beautiful. Thanks for joining us at Try A Sketch On Tuesday.
