Krafty Chicks Challenge #650: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

Honestly, it feels weird creating a Christmas card for this week. Maybe because I'm hoping for Spring to arrive quickly. I know there's still 6 weeks of winter left but with our warmer than usual temps lately, how can I not hope for spring? Everything is melting already.

I created this card following 52 Christmas Card Throwdown's current sketch challenge. This challenge uses lots of circles so why not use the circles Picture This die? Makes light work of adding a few circles. Once that was decided, I looked through my retired Christmas stamp sets since I only have one set that is currently in the Annual  Catalogue. And voila!

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Friday Inspiration: Friendly Gnomes

Happy Friday everyone! It’s almost the weekend, hope you scheduled some “ME time” in your craft space.

Here’s this week’s Friday Inspiration card using the Friendly Gnomes stamp set, the Heart punch and the Alphabet A La Mode dies.

If you know me, you know I’m all about gnomes. Have been for a couple of years, maybe because it’s the trend but maybe not. I have a Valentine one, a Christmas one, a Thanksgiving/fall one (thanks Jessica), a wind chime (thanks Ski) that will never go outside cuz I don’t want to ruin it, all three stamp sets from Stampin Up!, and of course a whole bunch scattered around in my flower beds (a Mother’s Day gift). I’m not tired of them yet.

I followed along with Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown’s current challenges.

 Supplies I used:

I completed the cards set by decorating the inside of the card and envelope with a bit of DSP and a heart.

I hope this inspires you to get creative in your craft space this weekend.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #649: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome February and more winter. At least it is a tad milder this year and I'm ok with that. It started in November, like on the 1st, which is way too early, and stayed. December was all the ugly I can handle with lots of -40 Celcius days. January was mostly mild, so here's hoping it's not " in like a lamb, out like a lion".

Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image (digi or rubber) or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

This is January's Thank You card for customers that have purchased from me. The best part, they all qualified for the Tuesday Night Live @7pm card kits using the In The Moment stamp set. You don't need the actual stamp that I used, check your stamp stash and use whatever works for you.

Supplies I used:

I usually keep the inside and the envelope CAS (Clean And Simple) with just a bit of DSP or card stock, maybe even a little stamping.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #648: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

I've been playing with the Sun Prints Collection Suite (158805) all week, mostly using the colours in the Designer Series Paper (DSP), which are blues. Then I thought: let's think outside the box and go different. I love the Soft Seafoam with shades of pink combo. For the sprig, I used my blender brush and created a pink ombre panel which I misted with water. I let the water sit for a few seconds then patted with a paper towel. Kept repeating that till I had the look I liked. Then I die cut the sprigs (and a wreath but saving that for another card) in the various shading.

 Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple. I stamped the floral image and added a strip of card stock to the inside.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #647: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

Aren't these owl so stinking cute?? When I saw this stamp set at On Stage way back in November, I knew I was going to buy it. They are so fun to colour; this time I used Stampin' Blends, my all time favourite colouring medium. I almost have the whole collection! Arranged like that on my card, kind of makes me think of siblings: first (the oldest) thinks up a plan, the second (middle child) gets in enough trouble on his own so isn't doing it and sends of the baby, the third (youngest) with all his charm goes off to execute and gets away with it. Lol! Maybe I'm reading too much into this.

I'm also playing along with the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #502. I just turned my card landscape instead.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. I simply added card stock and coloured an owl.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #646: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Seems weird to be creating more Christmas card, didn't the season just finish?  Lol! But let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week anyway! We can have a head start.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to create for this week's Christmas challenge. I am done with that season. The tree was finally put away on Monday, all trace of the holiday is gone... except in the craft room. I went looking for a sketch. Found one at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Then for the colours, I played along with the Color Throwdown, not very Christmassy but I was determined to make it work.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple. Here I added a card stock strip and stamped the small deer. I also embossed the envelope flap for more coordination.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #645: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome January and hello New Year! Hope you had an amazing holiday season with family and friends. I rang in the New Year with hubby in our jammies, enjoying a small beverage. And went to bed soon after.

Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image (digi or rubber) or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

For this card, I played along with Freshly Made Sketches #566. It was perfect to use my new Beautiful Shapes hexagon dies and of course a gnome! I goofed on my colouring of the hat but I didn't want to start all over so I just stamped again on a scrap, coloured just the hat and carefully cut it out. It kind of adds a bit of dimension too so it's another happy mistake. You can see what I mean in the close up.
