Krafty Chicks Challenge #685: Christmas

Oh yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

This week I'm following along with the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers sketch. I am using a retired stamp set and punch, I thought it coordinated well with the Merry Bold And Bright DSP.

Here's a close up of the Christmas lights, I popped them up on dimensionals.

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I added some DSPand stamped more bulbs. Quick and easy and done.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #684: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

It's the first week of October. That means it's the Stamp Act challenge with the Krafty Chicks. As long as something is stamped, be it an image (digi or rubber) or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge. Today we also introduce a new Guest Designer for the month. So let's welcome Laurel from Laurel Seabrook Designs with open arms and show her some love with comments on her blog. Here's my card:

I am loving the DSP in the background. Not sure what it is, maybe the contrast of the Wild Wheat on the Pretty Peacock. Looks almost golden!

Here's a close up of the sponging I did in the centre of the daisies to make it a different colour and stand out.

I kept the inside and the envelope CAS (Clean And Simple) by stamping a few daisies and leaves. It is that simple and doesn't take long to coordinate with the card.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #682: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

Another card I used the paper piecing technique on. It's part of a trio of cards. Here is my first one and you can see the second one here. I didn't even mind all the fussy cutting. I think this is my favourite of all.

A little close up but you can barely tell her clothes are fussy cut, even the throw pillows.

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope CAS, just a little DSP ought to do it.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #681: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? Sorry I'm posting a little late. Wednesday crept up on me, Thursday got away from me, and now it's Friday so I better get it done. I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

Now how cute is that?? These little critters are just die cuts from the Zany Zoo Crew DSP. Heck, I didn't even have to colour them. Just adhered them to my card. Added a sentiment and a few gems and called her done.

A little close up to show that I popped it up for interest.

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. This time I used a few more die cuts.

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #681: Christmas

Oh yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

This card was inspired from another card maker. Sadly I deleted the pic and cannot find them to give them proper credit. It may be hard to see but I punched out and adhered lots of bulbs to help add texture. I even die cut the letters with foam sheet to add dimension. Here's a close up.

I finished off the card with silver ribbon and lots of red gems.

To keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, I stamped more bulbs to create a string of lights. Quick and easy and done.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #680: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

It's the first week of July. That means it's the Stamp Act challenge with the Krafty Chicks. As long as something is stamped, be it an image (digi or rubber) or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge. We also introduce a new Guest Designer for the month. So let's welcome Denise from The Crafty Den with open arms and show her some love with comments on her blog. And now here's my card:

I played around with the paper piecing technique and gave this lady a beautiful dress and what looks like a straw hat. I used a Stampin' Blend to outline the pieces and to create a bit of shadow. And now she's styling!

Even in this close up you can't tell there's a bit of dimension, the paper pieces blend in seamlessly.

I kept the inside and the envelope CAS (Clean And Simple) with just a bit of DSP.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #679: Anything Goes

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

I can't believe tomorrow is September already.Where does the go?? And why must it go by so fast?? The grandkids have their first day of school tomorrow too. They are all excited to see their friends again and their mom is grateful for the peace and quiet.

This week on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog, it's Anything Goes week. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally Anything Goes!

Here's my project:

On the weekend, I stumbled upon this age old technique of Paper Piecing on the Stampin' Up! Facebook page. I had time to play. So I dug out the stamp set, went through my stash of DSP, stamped and fussy cut paper pieces many times over, adhered and assembled 3 cards.

Can you guess which pieces are fussy cut?? The pillows, book, throw blanket, pajama bottoms, socks, and coffee mug!

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your cards and the envelopes. I keep it clean and simple with just a little DSP and a coordinating stamped image.

I'd like to take this time to thank the August Guest Designer Kimberly for her fantastic inspiration this month. She did not disappoint. I encourage you to visit her blog, scroll through her many pieces of art, and show her some kindness in a comment.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.
