Krafty Chicks Challenge #644: Anything Goes (ATG)

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

I can't believe we are at the end of December already. I'm getting myself ready for the New Year and have a few goals that I'd like to work on. I think we all know calling them New Year's Resolutions is passe and no one does that any more. Heck, they didn't last long anyway! This year, I've got a plan! But you're here for a card, so let's get to it.

This week on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog, it's Anything Goes week. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally Anything Goes!

Here's my project:

I was just scrolling through Pinterest one day and stumbled upon a beautiful card created by Berdien Weideveld. It appears that she no longer blogs but I still found some inspirations there anyway. You might want to have a look for yourself. I just had to case (Copy And Share Elements) it. Loved everything about it, from the buffalo check to the wreath, to the penguin, to the colour.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple with just a strip of card stock and a stamped image.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #643: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

While I was playing with one of the upcoming stamp set last week, an idea popped in my head and I decided to keep creating. I've seen this card layout before but have never done it, so here it is. If you know how my brain works: simple I cannot leave it! I stamped and coloured more flowers to scatter around. It still leaves my card  CAS but the feeling of more. Well that's how I feel, anyway!

 Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope CAS with a little stamping, a little colouring, and a strip of card stock.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #642: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

Introducing a new stamp set from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalogue (J-A2023): Decorative Borders. I received while at On Stage in November but am just getting around to playing with it. I had many Christmas cards to create first. Speaking of Christmas, are you ready?? I'm almost there, there's always something to do though, right up until the last minute. And I still have 10 days left.

Back to my card, that's why you're here. I just couldn't leave my card flat. I'm funny that way! I fussy cut the flowers. Some I put on dimensionals and some I just adhered right over top the card front. I also added an extra flower. Well you see, there was this boo-boo with the ink splatter and I didn't want to start all over. Easiest solution (cuz there's no mistakes in card making): there's embellishing! No one will know!!!

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS with a little stamping, splatters and a strip of card stock.

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

krafty Chicks Challenge #641: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

I created this card for my December card kit. All orders (in the month of December, using Host Code: 6SFPJBFF) over $45 qualify for this free kit. You will get all the consumable items needed to create 4 beautiful cards. You need to provide the stamp set/bundle, ink pads, tools/equipment (like Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine) and adhesives. You don't need the stamp set I'm using, just use anything from your stash that is suitable.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope CAS. Here I just added a bit of DSP on the inside and a bit of stamping on the envelope

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #640: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome December and hello Willis the Elf! He makes his grand appearance today. Wonder what shenanigans he will be up to this month. My grand sons LOVE Facetiming me every morning to go look for him. They love it even more when they have a sleep over and can actually look for him themselves. And there will be lots of sleep overs in December this year.

Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image (digi or rubber) or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

This is another card from Martin Mayem's #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. One of the lasts, Day 28: Sketch. I did have loads of fun playing along this challenge, tried as best I could to make at least one card a day but did fall behind a couple of times. Even now, I have one more left to finish the challenge.

I have to show you a close up since you can’t really see the embossed panels. Not sure why I  haven't used the Wintry 3D folders yet, they are spectacular! I am also using an old Paper Pumpkin stamp set and the white circle with the sweater embossing is also a bit from that kit. Have you noticed the colour scheme?? I had left overs of the snowflake dies from Day 9 so I used them up here. You can't really tell but the big snowflake is Blackberry Bliss. I do like this combo!

Supplies I used:

I usually keep the inside and the envelope clean and simple with just a bit of card stock, maybe even a little stamping.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #639: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

I created this card for a Facebook 30 day challenge by Martin Stone. If you haven't heard of him, check out his blog Martin's Mayem, he's so talented. I love just about all of his work. Day 22 is a colour combo: Parakeet Party (not a fan of this colour at all), Tahitian Tide (very lovely turquoise), Daffodil Delight. I honestly thought this would be a tough one and that I'd bomb it, fluff it off at best. Luckily, some crafters are working ahead and I was able to see some inspiration. I also went on Pinterest (which I rarely do nowadays) and that's where I found it: Sandi MacIver's (another very talented paper crafter) MFT Selfies Day 2 post. I cased it! And I love it! Maybe it's all the colouring, I do love colouring.

 Supplies I used:

I didn't take a pic of the envelope and inside the card. I went very simple with a small strip of DSP. That's all!

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for All Occasions week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #638: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

Last weekend I was in Vancouver BC, Canada for a Stampin' Up! event called On Stage. There were over 250 demonstrators (a few from State side too) in attendance. It was wonderful! It's an event where you can meet up with old friends, make new friends, get recognized for your achievements (I got to walk across the stage for my $100,000 Sales Milestone), watch presentations on upcoming product, learn a few tricks and a few business tips too, and the best part: flip through the new January-April Mini Catalogue.

This is one of the Prize Patrol giveaways. We all got one! This stamp set will be available starting January 4th, 2023 in the Sale-A-Bration brochure. It's a Level 2 product, which means you'll need to spend at least $120 to get it for FREE. Don't you love that word! It's also a Two-Step Stamp, which means you stamp the outline first then stamp the filler. I kind of like that I missed making it perfect and coloured outside the lines. Very forgiving!

I also used a decorative mask in the background. I kept it light as it is suppose to be CAS but I have a hard time with all the white space. It's a cool compromise I think.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. Pretty much just repeated thethe mask and the flower stamp with a few splatters.

Want some more inspiration?? Go check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created. This month we have two Guest Designers. Hope you play along and upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #637: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. Let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

I had loads of fun creating this card for a recent Stamp-A-Stack event. The ladies were not disappointed with this design either. They made three of each three designed cards, decorated the inside of the card and coordinated the envelopes with a couple of stamps.

Supplies I used:

To jazz up the inside and the envelope, I randomly stamped the poinsettia and foliage to coordinate with the front of  the card. Most times I keep it simple but it's Christmas, it needed a bit more. It's still simple, yet a little more.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #636: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you! You are in for a treat this month, the Chicks are hosting TWO GUEST DESIGNERS for the month of November. I'm so looking forward to Helen and Mandy's creations and have a bit of fun in the Hen House. See their links below and show them some love with a comment each week.

Welcome November and hello SNOW! Can't complain this year, we had a beautiful October and this is our first official snow fall. We got quite a dumping too! There was no easing into that. Lucky me, I was also on days off so I didn't have to venture out until I have to go to work later today.

Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image (digi or rubber) or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

I played along with CAS Colours & Sketches #494 (Colours) and #493 (Sketch) and actually made two cards this week.

Once I cut off the corner of the DSP for the first, it only figures to use the other piece for a second. And I needed two Thank You cards right away for customer orders. These cards came together quickly, the hardest decision is usually how to place the floral die cuts in the background. But not this time because I kept it CAS.

Here's a close up. At first I stamped Rich Razzleberry ink onto Rich Razzleberry card stock but the image was faint. Then I thought of clear embossing powder to make the colour pop and it also adds a bit of shine.

Supplies I used:

I didn't have to decorate an envelope since these Thank You card were dropped into the customers' shopping bags. But I did stamp some foliage in Rich Razzleberry ink on the inside panel. Had I provided an envelope, I would have kept it very similar to the inside with a bit of foliage.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #635: All Occasions

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome to another great challenge week from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. All Occasions is the theme, so pretty much anything goes. Here's my card:

I was running late with my card this week. Lots of things happening in life, had a little cold that slowed me down a bit and some fall cleaning. But I got 'er done! I absolutely love the Kindest Gnomes bundle in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalogue. I know, they don't call it that any more but I still do. It was first on my list for pre-order. And I got the coordinating DSP too. It helped me cheat a bit tonight! There's a sheet of large mushroom houses that I was able to fuzzy cut (or used my die if I had thought of it) quickly as my focal point.

I followed the sketch on The Paper Players Challenge site.

Supplies I used: (links to come)

  • Kindest Gnomes stamp set: 159616
  • Early Espresso ink pad: 147114
  • Bermuda Bay card stock: 131197
  • Calypso Coral card stock: 122925
  • Crumb Cake card stock: 120953
  • Storybook Gnomes DSP: 159615
  • Paper Snip scissors: 103579
  • OR Gnomes dies: 159625 with Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine: 149653
  • Stampin' Dimensionals: 104430

I fussy cut a couple more mushroom house for inside of the card and the envelope. Kept everything CAS and added some DSP onto the flap of the envelope.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #634: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? I'm the hostess and we are looking for CAS, as in Clean And Simple. Here's my card:

While cleaning up my Craft Space (You wouldn't know it from the looks of it), I came across some old retired DSP and thought it perfect for this week's CAS challenge. The card feels very fall-ish to me; maybe it's the colours, the poppy pods, or the sentiment. October is Thanksgiving month in Canada. So I thought it very appropriate to continue the grateful feeling.

Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS with a little DSP and a strip of card stock.

Krafty Chick Challenge #633: Christmas

Yeah, it's Thursday! Time for another great challenge from the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog. In Canada, we just finished our Thanksgiving celebrations. Won't be long now and Christmas will be upon us. I haven't been in any stores lately but I can bet that the Christmas decorations are starting to fill the shelves. So let's put the spotlight on Christmas this week!

I created this beauty as a Stamp-A-Stack card. I had a few ladies signed up to create 9 cards, (3 of each 3 designs), decorating the insides and the envelopes too. I thought this a simple a card and if you are creating just one, alone at your desk, no distractions, no chatter, and no one waiting to use the supplies, it does make for a simple card. I will have to remember that for next. The group did like it though and had lots of fun!

Supplies I used:

I lie to keep the inside of the card and the envelope just as CAS. I wanted to use more DSP for the envelope flap but didn't have enough to go around for everyone so I just stamped it. Now you can see how we were help up by all the stamping and waiting.

Head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Christmas week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #631: Stamp Act

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

Welcome October! Officially Autumn when the leaves are falling, the garden is dug up and done, the heat is on more than just taking the chill out, and pumpkins are in the grocery stores. Thanksgiving is coming up this weekend in Canada. We are having the kids over and all the grand kids too. I'll have a Halloween craft to keep them busy and hoping for nice weather to kick them outside when it gets loud. Of course, I'll follow them out there, so it'll still be loud but they will burn some of their energy. Wish I could bottle some of  that up!

Onto my card for this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge : Stamp Act. As long as something is stamped, be it an image or a sentiment, it qualifies for the Stamp Act challenge.

I did a Two-For-One this week because I couldn't decide on a boy gnome or a girl one, so I made one of each. I didn't even stamp these gnomes, they are die cut from the Designer Series Paper. Now this paper has a Christmas/winter feel to it so I changes it into fall by colouring them with Stampin' Blends.

On the left we have the Before (DSP colours) and on the right the After (altered fall/Halloween version). Who said one couldn't colour on DSP??

I also used the Stampin' Blends to colour my gems. With this trick, I now have coordinating Opal Rounds in practically all the colours. You can also colour your rhinestones, pearls, and white ribbon.

Supplies I used:

I kept the inside of the card and the envelope real simple with the last piece of plaid DSP and a strip of card stock. Don't need to complicate it, just need to embellish.

Need more inspiration for the Stamp Act challenge, hop on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get the details. And upload your project so that we can see what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #631: ATG, Anything Goes

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!

I can't believe we are at the end of September already. The beginning of a new school year for those with little kids in their life. The beginning of Fall! Such a beautiful and colourful season, where we find "naked trees" as my grandson said when he was littler. Another fall feature: Pumpkin Spice and Apple Cider. Oh and hoodie weather!

This week on the Krafty Chicks Challenge blog, it's Anything Goes week. One of the easiest challenges because you can have any theme you like. It can be a card, (fancy fold even), a treat package, home decor, or a scrapbook page. Literally Anything Goes!

Here's my project:

I created this card for a Tuesday Night Live @7pm video on my Facebook group: Diane's Craft Space. I have a series where I pick a stamp set of the month, usually a month ahead theme, and I design one card for every Tuesday of that month. You can play along by purchasing a kit ($5 per card, so $20 per month, sometimes $25 if there's 5 Tuesdays). Or get it FREE with any order ($45 or more) from my online store using the current Host Code. FYI: October's stamp set is Painted Poppies.

 Supplies I used:

I like to keep the inside of the card and the envelope clean and simple, this time with just a little DSP and scraps of card stock.

I invite you to head on over to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog for more details about the challenge and for more inspiration for Anything Goes week from the Design Team. There's even a place to upload your project at the end. I hope you play along with us and show us what's happening in your craft space.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #747: CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday to you!  Are you ready for this week's challenge?? On the third week of the month, I'm the hostess and...
